Not waterproof

Went to REI with the purpose of buying waterproof shoes, I just moved to Seattle and had nothing waterproof for everyday wear. I looked on the website and shoes are made of waterproof leather, but it does not explicitly state the shoe is waterproof. I was skeptical of this but the fit was comfy and I thought maybe just the specs were not clear. Today was my first test of waterproof-ness and these shoes are not, top of my toes got a bit wet in the rain. Overall I like the shoe but they are not waterproof.

These are the second pair having had to replace the first one after about 8 months. Love the fit and comfort. However, both times the fabric inside above the heel wore straight through. The outside has remained very durable. anyone else have this issue?

Great toe protection and that’s about it

These shoes gave me shin splints in less than one week. These shoes came up under an REI search for walking shoes. No they didn’t. Yes they did, and they hurt my legs so badly I had to order running shoes from somewhere else to get me by. Once I stopped walking in these? My legs were able to heal. Zero support, but the one thing I did like was the toe protection which is great for doing yard work. I cannot believe how much I paid for these shoes. If you walk 30 or more miles a week, pass on these IMO.

Narrow and didn’t break in

I was searching for a shoe that I could wear everyday as well as at my outdoor job as an environmental educator. I’d heard a lot of great things about Oboz shoes and liked the feel of these in the store. I started using them to walk my dog and noticed my toes pinched when I wore them. It didn’t seem that apparent when standing still, but when my toes couldn’t spread during a step it caused sore feet. I thought they’d break in over time but they never did. I have a wide toe box and a narrow heal. Perhaps someone with a narrow foot would have better luck. It’s a shame. They’re stylish. I went with altra lone peak shoes instead and love them (though they wear out faster than most shoes I’ve owned which is disappointing for the price)

Great price point for a durable shoe

I was looking for a lighter pair of shoes for field work, something to wear when I didn't need a steel toe but did need the stability. These are perfect. I've worn them 4-5 times a week for the last month and they have broken in nicely, no blisters. I have wide feet and they have room. There is a heel slip but it has not bothered me. I really like the color and the look of the leather-- professional rather than too-too sporty. I live in New Mexico and it is HOT >6 months out of the year, these stay fairly cool and are very comfortable for all-day work wear.

Perfect all-arounder

I bought these shoes around the new year to make sure I had a comfortable and waterproof shoe to walk in this Chicago winter. The shoe was comfortable right out of the box with great cushioning and the hard to find generous toe box. I have a slightly wide foot and it’s tough to find a woman’s shoe (in an 11 no less) that can handle trail, snow, city and still be comfortable. This is that shoe. My adventure days are more tame now, but still looking forward to having them for upcoming day hikes in the Tetons and at Glacier. Highly recommended.

Toe room!

I have RA and when I’m trying to get through a flair up in my feet, I need shoes that have enough wiggle room to not cause pain but enough support in the heel and arch so I don’t feel like my shoes are flopping with each step. This is my second pair of Oboz and they check all these boxes ANNND they’re stylish and incredibly durable with good traction. I highly recommend!

Exactly the minimalist walking shoe for me

I've been looking for a shoe for colder and snowy weather that is too cold for my Merrill Gloves, but not enough for snow boots. I've tried light hikers, but these are perfect with low profile heel to toe and are definitely water proof! I've worn them in rain and snow and they keep my feet dry. Great room in the toe box. Well made. These are the shoes I've been wanting for years!!

Excellent Every Day shoe

I have bad feet…wider at my toes and narrower heel. I have bunions too. These shoes fit so comfortably right out of the box! I m normally a 7.5 but sometimes have to size up to an 8 depending on the shoe. These ran true to size for me. They’re so comfortable and have amazing arch support for my flatter feet. I can’t wait to take these on a trip soon, they will be my every day shoe!

Comfortable everyday shoe

It's hard to find comfortable shoes that tie, have good support, have a nice roomy toe-box, are light weight, and can take you everywhere. These shoes really fill the bill. I'm especially happy with the sole, which has a good grip on a variety of surfaces.
