It’s ok
For this price I thought I’d get a way better quality stand. I really Love how it’s very lightweight but feels kind of cheap and not structurally strong. It Hasn’t bent or cracked or anything, but the buttons that lock into place fall out constantly and jiggle and makes it move when sitting in it
Safety Concern
Equipment failure of the crossbar meant our kids unexpectedly plummeted to the ground. No apparent seam, the metal just peeled back. Feels like a safety issue that needs to be addressed.
Great product, but scratched up and bag broken
I love the hammock stand and it’s usability, but when I received the product it was scratched up and the bag was torn. Disappointing to pay so much for a damaged product.
So light and easy to use!
I live in an apartment and was looking for a hammock I could easily set up and take down for use in our shared yard. The Swiftlet was even better than I expected: very light and yet sturdy. It was easy to set-up and take down in just a matter of minutes. The carry bag is a very nice addition - especially with the built in guides/holders for the legs and smaller pieces so everything isn't just bouncing around in it. There's plenty of room in the bag to hold your hammock or other supplies. Unfortunately I only had the Swiftlet for one day, as I discovered that this sort of hammock exacerbates my occasional vertigo. Other than that it was sheer perfection.
What I Needed.
I have been contemplating spending the money on the Swiftlet for a bit but with SIP and WFH I thought why not. And overall you won't be disappointed when you get it. It was exactly what I needed in a treeless backyard in SF. Super simple to set up and you can just begin relaxing away. Swaying naps are made easy. I've even been asked what I am sitting on in my zoom meetings. I like that it is both sturdy and still manageable for me to put it up by myself and take it down. Stoked and excited to keep using this. However I need to say that before I could enjoy the Swiftlet I was a bit dismayed. Maybe it was the way it was packaged but both the box it came in and the travel bag was torn. I also noticed that after I left it out in the backyard for about a week or so, I noticed there was a bit of some rust happening on the quick release button. Between the bag and the button I would say there is still some work to be done to make it perfect.
So Good, my daughter stole it.
I love this thing sooo much! I debated it for a while because of the cost and a few questionable reviews but I am so happy I got it. I use an old hammock I've had for years (a double) and I've taken many a nap in it....unless my daughter is around, then I can't get her out of the thing. We have this and a traditional tree hammock but on our last camping trip we did not have two trees that would work. Super easy to put together and easy to bring with us or use on our deck. I'm seriously considering buying a second. I haven't used it in chair mode, but I hope to someday when my daughter is out of town....
Great hammock stand
Love these. Headed out on a national parks trip in the next month and saw that most parks now won't let you use the straps around trees. Needed an alternative as nothing better than ending the day reading in the hammock. Ended up getting two and took them on a test drive this weekend. Setup is super simple as in 1 or generous 2 minutes. The adjustable ends make it easy enough to adjust for size of user/hammock (we have Eno Doubles). I'm 6'4 205 and my son is 5'4 105. Since then, we've mostly had them in the backyard but did bring them into the house for a move night. We'll take them down eventually. Car camping accessory, too big for anything else.
Same issue as last reviewer
Last reviewer, don't beat yourself up about your weight. I'm only 160 and the same thing happened to me within the week. Only myself using it, level ground. We might have gotten a batch of lemons. I gorilla taped the bajeesus out of mine to slow the crack until I get a replacement. We'll see if the next one has the same issue. Cheers.
Fat people can't have nice things
I weigh 230lbs. The first time I used it I was in heaven for all of ten minutes, and then one of the legs spilt as soon as I went to get up. Really disappointed
Awesome hammock stand
I Love this stand! I use it with my ENO double nest. It takes about 2 minutes to set up and is super sturdy. It looks well made and is easy to transport. I’ve only used it so far in my backyard so I can’t comment on use in the wild but I know it’s going to be great for car camping. Definitely not for backpacking use.
