I got these shoes for work where I am on my feet for 12 hours a day. They are soft and supportive throughout the day and I come home with less foot/leg/back pain. They did take a bit to break in fully, as at first the arch felt narrow and hit my foot at a weird spot. The shoe is wider at the toes and heels, so not overall a narrow shoe, just in the arch. After a couple weeks of wearing they feel great and are my go-to shoe for work. I ordered size 8 and I can typically wear anywhere from a size 6-8 depending on the brand and I think they fit well, but may have been able to go down to a 7.5 and still felt comfortable. Overall, I would say they fit true to size.
When I tried these on at the store, I immediately knew these were the only shoes I could trust for road running again. My knees got wrecked after concrete running years back and have finally recovered. These Hoka One Ones make me feel confident on going back out… can’t believe I used to think Nike Free Runs were cushy. I WILL say that if you walk on pavement with them, the shoe tread can be a little loud, but I can’t complain because the tread doesn’t get lodged with gravel like some of my other running shoes do. Love these!
I bought these shoes for walking and put them to the test over the past week since purchasing them. Very comfortable. Good support, roomy toe box. Walked 20+ miles in three days. Also wore while standing and cooking Thanksgiving dinner. Excellent support and a back saver! I purchased size 9 which is my usual size. My foot is on the narrow side. I adjusted the laces accordingly. These fit very comfortably. Highly recommend. Received excellent information and guidance from the REI staff member who assisted me. He encouraged me to try the Bondi 7. I tried other Hoka styles and other brands and settled on these for their distinct comfort.
Had to return. I have a Hoka pair from several years ago, Stinson, same size 8.5. These fit well. They felt great walking around in the house. Realized I felt a lack of support in my arch- quite badly. My inner foot was leaning into the mesh of the shoe and it felt like there was little beneath it, especially versus my old Hoka and hiking shoes like my Oboz. After wearing for about 10 min, my left foot started tingling and a middle toe felt numb. Sending back. Years ago I had plantar fascitis, and have flat feet and tend to over-pronate per running store evaluations. Disappointed. Going to a local running store but no REI close to me.
I can't understand all the rave reviews. I researched, read, watched youtube vids on the best cushioned, most supportive shoes out there and Bondi7 was on top of the list. I'm an essential worker and on my feet for 10hrs a day, walking, climbing stairs and 2 hours wearing these shoes I experienced pain on my feet, toes and legs unlike ever before. There were no cushion, no marshmallow feel, nor pillowy support whatsoever! Nothing but lead weight with hard bottom. I couldn't wait to take it off and return it to get my money back. Thankfully, Rei has great return policy. Sadly, this was my first Hoka and it will be last. I just don't trust what they claim to be of their shoes.
These are amazingly comfortable! Store employer Dennis helped with the selection and I have never been so happy with a shoe purchase. I have worn HOKA for several years but always purchased them online on sale. This time I tried going into REI and doing a try on and selection, so glad I did! I have not had them long, but love putting these shoes on everyday. I walk a lot—these are my street walkers and daily shoes for a 125 pound fit lady, 5’5” tall, mid 60’s. I thought I was a 6 1/2 shoe gal, but Dennis convinced me to try the 7–even better! My second toe is actually longer than my big toe, so it has a bit more room which means more comfort.
i ordered these shoes for work. i am a waitress and am on my feet for long periods of time walking/standing on concrete and wooden floors, walking upwards of 25K steps a shift. these shoes are the best that i have found yet. i have even convinced a couple coworkers to buy them. they offer great overall support. they do take a week or two to break in. they may be hideous but i live in them four days a week.
This shoe cradles my plantar fasciitis and is super easy on my arthritic knees. I’m only 41, but due to two knee surgeries and lots of knee injuries from sports in the past, I’ve had arthritis for over a decade in my right knee and problems with both. I like the responsiveness of my Brooks shoes, but after gaining some weight last year and trying to lose weight, my foot and knees needed something more plush. First run with them and I shaved 35 seconds off my mile! And more importantly, my foot and my knees felt awesome. Highly recommend this shoe who need pain relief and want a more luxurious run or walk.
Walked 159+ miles on the Camino de Santiago in Spain. Great cushioning and stability. I saw many fellow pilgrims wearing Hokas. I super pronate so sadly after my trekking, I had worn down the outside heal.
Comfortable for long walks on hard smooth surfaces. Not reccomended for off-trail. Nice & lightweight. Decent stability & fair cushion.
