An Ooooey Gooooey Sticky Mess
I ride a beach cruiser about 100 miles a week and bought this saddle thinking that it would last a good long while. I purchased it in May. In late July one of the “liquid” sacs in the saddle sprung a leak mid ride. When I got home I found the saddle and the back of my shorts covered in a sticky mess. About the consistency of honey. Really really gross. I cleaned up my bike and returned the saddle to REI where I received a cheerful refund. My shorts may never be the same again as two trips through the wash have not removed the goo. I will say I liked the saddle very much until it failed. I replaced it with the “regular” Boulevard saddle for about $20 less which is filled with foam and not goo. This, I think, is the way to go.
Bought for exercise bike
I bought this seat for my exercise bike as I am always on it for about an hour and half every other day. It's definitely more comfortable that than the seat that came with it. My only gripe would be the rear angle feels like it pushes you forward and you feel like you are sliding down if its completely level. It forces the nose of the saddle to be slightly upwards to stay seated in the saddle properly. All in all, I continue to use it as its still a noticeable improvement and is comfortable one you get that angle just right.
comfortable
I’m I big guy and out of all the saddles I have tried this one helps relieve sit bone pain the most, don’t be afraid to try multiple saddles till you find ones that works for you.
Super Comfortable
I’m 60 years old and have been riding road bikes for 35 years. Currently I ride about 5,000 miles a year. In my younger years I could use just about any saddle without thought. For the last 10 years it has been very difficult to find a comfortable saddle. I’ve tried all sizes and shapes across all price points up to $400 without luck. This Bontrager Boulevard Fluid Saddle is phenomenally comfortable. The material is such that a box cutter can be used to further shape the saddle as needed. I was able to successfully shave off approximately a 1/4 inch from each side of the saddle nose. I ride a dropped handlebar racing-style bicycle with a relaxed geometry and this saddle, with the modified nose, works fabulously.
Considering ordering another one.
I bought the 205mm seat in March of last year and put 5300 miles on it by the end of November. It's definitely a comfortable seat. It shows virtually no wear for all the use it has gotten so I'm going to buy one for another bike of mine.
worth the money
I bought this a couple weeks ago because the stock seat was killing my bum. I tried padded shorts,, lowering the handle bars,, etc and nothing helped.. This seat is very comfortable. I would definently recommend trying this if all else fails. Well worth the money
If you have a bony butt, this is the seat for you!
I have a rock hopper, which is a really old mountain bike, I need a new seat for it because frankly my butt was hurting with the other saddle I had. This one’s been fantastic. The gel is just in the right place to give comfort where it’s needed. Staff was excellent in helping me pick the right one and warned me that it’s kind of wide/big for a mountain bike. I showed them the size of my butt and “I doubt the size of the saddle would make much difference” we all laughed! Great team in the Irvine office. Thank you very much!
Happy To Bike Again
First off, I have put 20 miles on this saddle over 3 bike rides since I've purchased it. I bought this saddle after trying the Bontrager Commuter saddle, which has really good reviews but I found it to be really uncomfortable. I have a pelvic floor injury that has not allowed me to ride a bike at all, for over a decade; however, this seat has allowed me to ride again. Due to my injury I went with the wider seat, in hopes of increased comfort, which I think it delivers on. The quality of the saddle seems good and the material choices feel solid. The seat has been comfortable for my 9 mile paved trail rides I go on. The reason I give this seat 4 starts is because I wish it was a tad softer in the front half and I wish it was sculpted to be narrower in the center section of the saddle; I do not have wide hips. This seat fit my Gary Fisher Mamba quite well. Men's saddle design has definitely improved in the last decade. GUYS protect yourself and get a seat with the cut-out in the center, I wouldn't have sustained my injury if I had a seat like this back when I was young and dumb on a bike.
Have a large bottom spread then its your pillow
Form follows function, liquid/gel filled padded seat.
Too firm
Too firm for 77 year old man with hemmorids. Worse than gel seat I wanted to replace.
