Amazing, with a couple small issues
I got this in the Sunny Side Up color, and it's SO comfortable. Fits true to size, and colors are great. My only complaints are that the collar does not stay down if you have it zipped partway up which is a little goofy looking, and the orange stripe is discolored by the blue fabric behind it - it looks great around the seam where it's doubled up though, so it's too bad it's not just doubled the whole way. Zipper pockets would have been nice too but at least you have the inside pockets (backside seams of the front ones so not a formal zipper wallet pocket). Overall it's a great fit and super soft - a good medium weight for spring/fall.
Cute fleece with the basics
Cute jacket with basic hand pockets and full zip front with elastic cuffs. I like that the accents are purple. I think it’s red enough but it’s not a deep red, for sure. My first piece from Cotopaxi, I’ll be interested to see how it holds up. The stitching and details look solid, so I’m sure it’ll be fine. I’m 5’4” and 135lbs and bought a medium. It fits well, maybe a bit long in the sleeves but better than short. Tall collar with a zipper garage and internal satin, which is nice against the neck. This satin is also inside the hand pockets. Has one large internal slip pocket as well. I love the stripes! Cotopaxi color ways are so much fun.
Poor fit and low quality
I had such high hopes for this jacket, but it really is not up to snuff. The fit is quite odd. It was right across the chest and shoulders, but comfortably baggy elsewhere (I have broad shoulders but a small chest). The colored material is also really cheap feeling. It makes a crinkle sound and is uncomfortable on the neck. Furthermore, this material is used for the pockets, which makes me think walking with keys in them would quickly lead to a hole. Would be ok for a $30-40 price point, but definitely not worth even the discounted rate of $76. I returned for a refund.
Inaccurate color
I believe most people buy Cotopaxi's product for their fun colors. But for this red fleece, the color is more like a reddish pink, also a little washed out than website picture. It's definitely not a saturated bright red. The 3 polyester taffeta color stripes feel a little cheap, same material for inside of neck part and pockets. Pockets have no zippers so your phone will very likely slip out. The fleece part feels nice and warm. True to size.
Perfect jacket
I love this jacket so much I purchased it in two colors. It’s warm but light. I love the pockets on the inside and typical hand pockets.
Great Jacket
I love my new Teca Fleece jacket and it has been cold enough lately for me to wear it. The colors are so beautiful and I even gave one to my girlfriend for her birthday (REI) and she loves hers too! I also recently read an article about how you send damaged items to Marge, the Mama Lama and I loved that. I’m so impressed with your philosophy around sustainability and reducing your carbon footprint. I also love the hat and Fanny pack I bought from you. One of your stores (in El Segundo, at The Point) is opening this summer and I am very excited to see it!
I love this fleece!
This was my second Teca zip up fleece purchase since I loved my first one and there are so many fun colors. I wear one almost every day. So cozy for wearing out and about in cold MN and I get so many compliments. Is too warm to run in for me, even in MN, but perfect for casual wear. I will definitely be buying more. I'm 5'8", 135lbs and a medium fits great (I am usually a small so I do think this particular style runs a bit small). Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that this does lose a little of it's softness after the first wash which may bother some people but I don't mind since it's still warm and cozy.
I love the jacket, with one major exception.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The jacket is really nice, it’s soft and sturdy, and it fits great everywhere but the neck. The neck is both too baggy, too tall, and too stiff, so when it’s not zipped up I can’t get it to lay flat. But when it’s all the way zipped it juts into my chin and feels strangely too large and too tall. The neck really bothers me, and I’m sad I didn’t realize it sooner.
Taffeta is a terrible choice
The taffeta is pretty for the front stripes. But it’s a very loud fabric and unsuitable for the neck, pocket and waist areas. Nobody needs to hear their hair etc swishing back and forth. Other issues are the one side of the collar doesn’t fold down flat due to the bulk of the zipper garage, and the fleece just isn’t soft or cozy. I’m sure it’s plenty warm but it’s just not worth it.
Pretty, but returned
The aua is *very* harsh and bright, but I would have kept had I liked the jacket enough. The fleece seems warm enough. It fits well (5'5, 175, size L). However, the shiny fabric makes the jacket very "whooshy." As a birder, I like my hiking clothes to be quiet enough to hear birds in the distance. Also, as I was unzipping the jacket, the zipper separated at the bottom where they are supposed to stay connected. Zippers shouldn't break on the first try.
