Don’t buy the . 2/. 3

I have a . 1/. 2 and a . 2/. 3 offset and the . 1/. 2 works just fine but the . 2/. 3 seems to have a possible design flaw? The lobes don’t want to retract and one side gets hyperextended while the other is hypoextended. I’ve read online of this same thing happening to other’s cams. It’s not even an old cam as I’ve only had it about a year. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy the . 2/. 3 z4

Places Like a Dream

Was skeptical at first as to how well it would hold once placed, especially given the diminutive stature, but felt absolutely bomber, and am a big fan of the flexible/rigid stem function found on all z4s as well. Would definitely suggest for either beggining trad climber or advanced, as great for pin scars as it is for saying "screw it heres a cam" to that tricky stopper placement. Big fan and will always have it on me

Placed handful of times, gear is great but..

The only issue IMO with the Z4s in sizes smaller than 0.3 is the single axle on the cam which is pretty commonly known for giving more resistance when trying to place it. I tried to skip corners and buy the 01./0.2 offset as appose to buying both the 0.2 and a 0.1 because was not sure if I would need both. I placed this Z4 as a backup piece, not sure if I would whip on it but overall a solid piece when needed.

Broken Trigger Wires

When I first purchased my Z4 set 2 years ago I loved them. They slot in everything and are solid. Since then I've had to replace FIVE trigger wires & my confidence in BD's build quality has dropped. I've never had to replace a trigger wire on my metolious cams, or my older style BD's (though my #3 is ready for one). I will no longer be buying BD products, they've gone downhill!

Z4: The Best got Better

Narrower heads than the C4 enable more/deeper placements. Stem stays rigid when placing, and then appropriately flexes. The offsets were exactly what I was looking for to protect pin scars and flares. Amazing how much better the cams engage when compared to a comparable C4. The confidence I'm looking for on hard trad projects!

Excellent, not a specialty piece

These offsets are well built and are solid in flares and pods. Recently many have opted for totems instead, but two good lobes and two bad lobes aren't a substitute for four good lobes in a flare. Placing the z4 feels excellent, the trigger feels smooth and precise even when pumped.

Smalls aren’t rated as strong so I want a perfect fit on both sides. Often, equalizing a pair of smalls in the same small crack, I end up needing an offset when the normal Z4 takes up all of the perfectly parallel space. When I rack them I’m surprised how often I use them. Love’m!

brilliant!

LOVE these for Yosemite, but great everywhere. flaring placements are a slam dunk with the off sets. I tell people to buy an offset before they buy a second of any size, because you can be inventive and make them work more places than either the size above or below them.

Perfect in almost all situations

The thin lobes and offset sizing always places really well in flares, eyebrows, and pods. I always carry a rack these days with the 3 smallest on one oval. In the alpine these are my go to double rack addition. The low profile slings are and added bonus for lightness

Can they get any better?!

Bought my first set of Z4 Offsets after using C4/X4’s for years and I’m so impressed. The tiny changes like stem , textured/narrower lobes and new style trigger wire guard is really nice. Kind of thinking I need a whole set of Z4 micro cams as well now.
