Great New Product
I’ve had this new 32-ounce Trail Series bottle for over a month now and have come to really like the new size and the lighter weight. I’d say it functions every bit as well as their other flasks in keeping liquids hot or cold. another great product from this company.

Not as insulating as standard models
I bought this because I wanted a lightweight vacuum bottle that packed a bit better, and gladly paid extra assuming this was as insulating as standard Hydro Flask vacuum bottles (which is what they claim). But when I filled it with hot water, it *felt* hot which I knew meant it was leaking way too much heat. I did an experiment with a thermometer and three other bottles. This is MUCH less insulative than bottles less than half the price. A hot bottle of water is lukewarm after just 3 hours with this, whereas with normal vacuum insulated bottes it stays piping hot for hours longer than that. See the graph. It's made well, looks good, and packs well, but does NOT perform as advertised and isn't worth the extra cost. I'll be returning.

I'd Consider Alternatives

I like the bottle, but I have encountered a couple issues with it. First, Hydro Flask doesn't make a boot that fits this item. I purchased an alternative that I found suitable. First actual drop damaged the bottle significantly - caused a dent outside and protrusion inside. I found this surprising considering they advertise that their "gear is created to last a lifetime of adventures". This is my first Hydro Flask (in the past, I've always bought Contigo products, never bought a boot, and didn't damage so easily). I'm not sure if this is common with all their water bottles or if the Trail Series, in particular, is more susceptible to damage. Not happy considering the cost of the product and I wouldn't recommend it to others.

SO WORTH IT!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hydro Flask's 32oz Lightweight Wide Mouth Trail Series in the color Slate is a FANTASTIC canteen. I drink so much water and I absolutely detest drinking from plastic water bottles as it contributes to the waste in our environment and the taste is subpar. This bottle I fill up in the morning before my day begins around 6AM with ice and filtered water. I only add about five normal size ice cubes, however they are still there at lunchtime when I finish my water and refill it again for the second part of the day. I am astounded at how cold it keeps my water through the day. It is lightweight and it is with me everywhere I go. Its plain but stylishly understated. I love the BPA free cover and the dual wall construction to keep my drink cold (or hot if I so choose). I always hand wash it and it rinses super clean, never leaving a soapy smell afterwards. Its such good self care to drink water and its all good for everyone else to use a reusable container. Just think of how much less plastic would be polluting our oceans if everyone had a Hydro Flask! I love it and its so worth it!

Love the lighter weight but dents too easily

I’ve had this for several months and like it, BUT it does dent really easily. Now it is to the point that it is a little shaky when I set it down. I bought another one at a store hoping there would be a boot available, but still no boot is compatible. I guess the boot may defeat the purpose of its lighter weight, but I’d still want to try it.

Perfect flask!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Hydro flask in the 32 oz wide mouth trail series to encourage myself to drink more water during the day. Well I brought it to the gym and it really keeps my electrolyte water cold and being in the south that’s important! I like the wide mouth feature and the handle on top is super easy to carry.

crazy light, very efficient, and very attractive!

unbelievably lightweight! i own about 10 Hydro Flasks and this one is steadily becoming my favorite. i’d say it insulates even better than my standard 40/32 ounce hydros. it’s slightly thinner than them as well, which lets it fit in my tacoma’s cup holders. it has a very handsome bronze/copper/gold shine which stands out, but isn’t too flashy. the texture is great too (i thought i’d miss the powder coating of the originals, but it’s pleasant in its own way). buy this lightweight hydro before you can’t!

Leaks after a year!

I had a wide-mouth white one 2 years ago, and it started to leak almost a year in. Fortunately, I had the member return policy applied and got a new one (this exact green and red detailed wide-mouth model) May 2021. Started leaking again earlier this month, June 2022. It ruined my sketchbooks and notepads. Really upsetting. This time, it's been 13th months, so no return. NEVER GOING TO GIVE THIS BRAND ANOTHER CHANCE! Eff hydro flask. (Thanks for the 2nd chance REI). FYI, It has never been through rough activities. Pretty much only in bags or hand carried for simple daily commutes. I swear, never had hard drops over the year...

Love this 32 ounce Trail Series…but

I love this bottle. It is light weight. It fits in my car’s cup holder. It keeps my ice water cold for 12 hours. That being said. It is not as durable as the regular hydro flask bottles. Those things are indestructible. It also doesn’t do as well in extreme weather. If it is 100 degrees out it doesn’t do as well as the regular HF bottles. I am currently on my 3rd HFTS32 due to dropping them. Once they are dropped they don’t work as well. It would be nice if they made a boot for the 32. I am going to buy the sling for my shorter (8-12) mile hikes so I can use hiking poles and hopefully keep from dropping the thing. I still recommend this. For me the shape and weight are good enough trade offs for the lack of durability.

Best Bottle Ever !

So this is probably my 5 bottle (2nd 32oz) that I purchased and I can’t be happy enough about it. First, it does fit your cup holder on your car which is a big plus. 2nd, it is very light and stylish. 3rd and not least, it does hold the temperature great. I would highly recommend it over the 24oz since those are enough specially if your the type of person that loves putting so much ice on it. It will only have a small amount of water once you have all the ice. I can’t be more than happy about this bottle. I will probably buy one more (Gray) since the one I bought was the only on sale that’s why I bought it.
