New Balance  996 Shoes - Women's

I wore a previous pair of NB's to DEATH and wanted another to replace them. The grey-beige color matches a lot of different outfits. I've dressed this up with a skirt, or when going on a walk or bike ride. These have been sold out consistently from other department stores so when I saw REI had them in stock in the monochrome color and most importantly my size, I snapped them up.

I normally wear Adidas Stan Smiths, but I've been walking a lot, about 7.5 miles a day, and my legs and feet are starting to feel the wear and tear, so I decided it was time to get something a bit cushier. Unfortunately while these are very cute and fashionable, they aren't very cushy. After standing in them in my kitchen for an hour, and then doing some chores around the house, the balls of my feet were aching, and overall they weren't an improvement over the Smiths, so back they go! New Balance do run narrow, but tend to stretch out enough over time. I've owned a few over the years. I am a wide 8.5, so I typically purchase a 9 in most shoes, and these fit fine in a 9.

As always, New Balance is a great shoe for the entire family. There’s typically not a lot of crazy colors and flash with this brands and when they step out of there comfort zone, it’s tasteful done. I purchased this particular shoe for my daughter, great fall color shoe, lightweight, and all the comfort and stability that New Balance is the champion of. The only complaint I have regarding this shoe is that the fabric on top of the front of the shoe has started to come undone and fur up as the shoe has only been worn three times. I’m not sure if we just got a bad pair or it’s the make of the shoe, but unfortunately we will be returning this shoe.

I love these! I got the maple sugar colorway and I absolutely love the colors. These shoes are really comfortable; I've been wearing them consistently now and haven't had any blisters. I've been looking for a cute, comfortable, not $100+ sneaker and I've finally found them! I typically wear a 7.5 and that size in these shoes fit me perfectly. They don't have much arch support but nothing a little insert couldn't fix. I really recommend these if you're looking for a cute and comfortable sneaker that's not over the top expensive.

I read the previous review stating you should size up a whole size and I second that! I'm normally an 8.5 and I got a 9.5 and they fit perfectly. I do like more space in the toe box so if you like it snug maybe do 1/2 size up. I love the color of these and that they're comfortable right out of the box. I didn't wear socks with mine and the first time I wore them out they didn't rub weird or feel uncomfortable. Very light on my feet as well! This is the second shoe I purchased after trying the 574s which I wasn't a fan of. The toe box on those was too short so if you had that same issue maybe try these! I also think they're less bulky and more classy looking.

I love how light-weight they are and they run narrow, which works perfectly for my foot. My only disappointment is that they could have more bounce/cushion in the step. Also, they run exactly a 1/2 size too small. I am a typical 7 with narrow feet, so I should be able to wear a 7. With socks, they are too short in the length. They are truly adorable, however, and I'm hoping they'll stretch with more wear.

I love these new colors!! So cute and feminine. I got them in the blue and the color is very bright and beautiful in person! But I do have to say these run sooo smal. My normal sneaker size is 7.5. When I got those in I placed a new order for an 8. Those still weren't big enough. I ended up with an 8.5 even though all of my other new balance sneakers are a 7.5. I'd personally suggest going up a whole size. My feet aren't particularly wide either so I was shocked I had to size up that much. All in all, these shoes are gorgeous and New balance has quick shipping and easy returns so it wasn't a big deal!

The first thing I noticed was that these shoes appeared to have been worn before I received them. The soles were dirty. Also, I bought them a half size bigger, but they were an exact fit. Comfy shoes, but I was hoping for better arch support.

The insole is removable, so my full-length orthotic was able to fit inside while still leaving room for my long and wide feet. The low-slung style, however, is sleek and doesn't make my feet look huge. They're comfortable and stylish - I love them and am going to order them in multiple colors!

These shoes are way cuter in person! So comfy and look great with leggings and jeans. Thinking about buying them in more colors because I love them that much!
