Perfect Day-Hiking Pack with Your Dog
This is my favorite short day-hiking fanny pack, and I also use it for xc skiing in the winter. The small front zip compartment has become a glorified treat container for my dog, and for a 3-4 hour hike or xc ski, it carries everything you need it to. I even attach my dog's poo bag holder to it (extra stylish). My only complaint is the size of the water bottle holder- I have a 32oz water bottle that does not fit in the holder. Whenever I use this waistpack, I have to use a skinnier / smaller water bottle (another reason I would only use this for a day-hike or day-ski).

AWKWARD
Gorgeous pack that I loved when I took it out of the box. Completely disappointed when I put it on with water bottles which were on the small side. The location for the bottles does not allow my arms to hang naturally. Way too awkward. I'm average build 5'5 125 lb female. This pack might work for a larger person that is wider on the backside.

Anchor walking sticks to the Co-op 5

This is a great light=weight pack. I prefer to wear it on the side as there is lees stress on the lumbar muscles and a side carry positions one of the bottles to be at the front for easy access. I hike with light-weight telescopic walking sticks (Leki Khumbu Lite). Many times I'd like to scramble rocks but need to hold the sticks in one hand. But, with this pack, you can anchor them so your hands are free! The sticks come with two clamp holding them together Unscrew and remove the knobs on the clamps. Get two Nite Ize #3 25 lb S carabiners. Fasten one side of the carabiner to the first loop of the daisy chain and clip the other side over the clamp. Repeat on the other side. The poles are the firmly attached to the pack-move clamps to the center to increase the grip. Try it!

It holds EVERYTHING

I got this waist pack for long walks with my dog and shorter day hikes where I don't need to bring my real backpack. It holds everything I could possibly want to carry — water, a collapsible dog bowl, dog toy, keys, phone, and has room for more. As other reviewers have said it's pretty large on a small person but it's comfortable when worn in the back.

Excellent daily-carry for travel.

Bought this bag for daily carry during a 2 week trip through Spain/France/Italy. Overall it worked extremely well. I appreciate the organization & pockets throughout (especially the discrete one between the padding that sits against your body & the main compartment). The exterior straps came in very handy for stowing a rain jacket without taking up interior space. I found this bag to be most comfortable worn in cross-body style. I also added a Nite Ize S-biner to keep the main compartment a bit more secured from sticky-fingers in crowded areas. This bag also came in very handy during flights. I need extra leg-room, so exit row seats don't always have a place to stow a personal item. Worn cross-body, this bag held everything I needed quick access to during my flights. My only complaint is that the bottle pockets are claimed to fit a full-sized nalgene. While this is true, they only allow a standard 1 liter nalgene to fit half-way (and it's a bit of a struggle to get it started). When the bottle is full of water, the coverage of the mesh pockets is not enough to retain the bottle if you lean over. It would be great if in future versions the bottom mesh was baffled to allow the bottle to slide in further to keep it retained better. All in all, this bag was the perfect size for my daily-carry needs and performed really well for the duration of my trip. If this bag could hold a standard-sized, full nalgene more competently, this would be a 5-star product for me.

Great bag

The pockets are excellent amd well thought out I live this size nit to big or small. Love the two bottle pockets and one I use for my cell phone occasionally. The bottom straps nice for larger things like for jacket. Waist straps long enough for shoulder carry too.

Carries a lot, but needs work

I bought this today to use as a day pack, or for misc. items on a thru hike. I love that it holds two water bottles (16 oz Nalgene seems to fit best.) With 3 different zip pouches, this holds my 10 essentials needed for a day hike. Loved that I could strap my Nemo Chipper to the bottom. The only complaint I have is the buckle. It's super fickle. It's easy to adjust, but doesn't stay adjusted when taking off the pack. While holding it, any shift in the weight causes the buckles to loosen and slack. I think I'm going to alter this and sew on a few strips of extra strength velcro for a secure & lasting fit... velcro would be a nice thing to see on future models.

Love this pack!

I wear this waistpack all the time for hiking, wandering the farmers market, or just in place of a purse. I fit my 20 oz klean kanteens on each side and they don't get in my way. I'm 5'7 130 lbs woman. It works well wearing front or back. It's super comfortable, has plenty of room and good organizational features including a nice padded pocket for your phone. I've attatched a jacket on the bottom. I fit a big burrito in it! When my dog gets tired hiking, I pick him up and he stands on it to take some of the weight off my arm. It cleans up easily. It's big and dorky, but oh so comfy and functional.

Consider the Trail 5 over the Osprey Savu

I've used the Osprey Savu pack for 3 years now and it has served as my wife's hip pack when we go out mountain biking. I recently picked up Trail 5, and in just a few outings so far, I like it better than the Savu. Although both are 5L, the Trail 5 has deeper pockets which allow you to actually fit more things, or at least pack them easier. The water bottle holders aren't as secure on the Trail 5 compared to the Savu, but they work just fine. I've used the Trail 5 mountain biking and skiing and it held up great holding 1L of water, sunscreen, chapstick, phone, and a lightweight shell. It sits comfortably on the hips and won't move around too much.

ALMOST Perfect multipurpose waist pack

Great multipurpose bag. 3-season day hikes, paddling, biking, and urban adventures. Securely wrapped around a 35 L backpack it quickly detaches after camp is set up for explores. I use the pole straps to secure a puffy or rain jacket if needed. Room for Improvement: Bungee loops to secure water bottles would be great and I may add. Micro webbing like the backpacks on the top and sides would allow more clips or bungee to attach an ultralight rain jackets or ponchos and keep them accessible and off rocks when sitting. Good 3 pocket organization but the inner organizer pockets might be better on the zipper side for better access when the bag is stuffed.

Great for hot dogs!

Went to a warehouse rave with some buddies and managed to fit 8 hot dogs (with buns and condiments) and a small water bottle in this pack. The boys were eatin good on the dance floor that night. I’m sure it’s great for hiking and all that too, but if you need a reliable glizzpack for your outings, this is your ticket. The outer pockets can store plenty of sauce packets and napkins, and the side pockets take well to a bottle of hot sauce. Can’t ask for a better set up really. Perfect for all my glizzy goblins out there.
