I basically haven’t worn any other pants since these arrived...I love the real pockets, the lightweight fabric and the flattering cut. I have a thicker waist and narrow hips, and these still stay up (unless I have a lot of heavy things in my pockets). One sizing note is that I usually wear size 10 to 12, depending on the brand, and I am right on the cusp between a L and a M in the capris, even though I wear an M in the Dynama/2 ankle pants. I kind of think the capris have a sliiiiiightly tighter cut than the pants...which may be helpful to know if you are like me and want to only wear variations on Dynama from now on.
They are dark blue. I thought dark zinc would have more of a grey tone. But it's a nice blue. As other reviewers shared, the length of the rise (waist to crotch) is shorter than on the shorts and their older versions. I just bought latest version of Dynama shorts and they are a high enough rise. I read the reviews that the capris' rise is too short compared to the shorts, but I like the shorts so much (past and current versions) that I wanted to try the Dynama capris myself. They are too short in the rise and there is risk of camel toe. If you are short waisted or short in the rise from the crotch to your waist -- these should be good for you.
I was reluctant to buy pants online but during this COVID time I did because I desperately needed a new pair of capris for zooming. I am 5'5" and weigh 123lbs and the size small fits perfectly. I can't believe how much I love these capris. They are extremely comfortable and just pull on with no snaps, zippers, cords or anything else at the waist. My iPhone fits in the back pocket which I appreciate and I can put keys in my front pocket when I go to the mailbox. They look nice - not too tight and not at all baggy. Once COVID is over and I'm socializing again, I'm sure I'll get compliments on them. Meanwhile, I look in the mirror, see how nice they look and compliment them myself! I'm glad I bought them.
The Dynama/2 Capri's are comfortable and flattering for my curvy figure. The pockets are actually useful for carrying a phone. I rating them down a star because the first time wearing them I snagged the fabric on a sequoia branch in my yard and now there is a thread hanging out. This is disappointing because I am going to wear them biking around town for errands and now they look a little sloppy. But other than that I am happy with them.
Nice deep pockets that are actually functional - a rarity in women's clothing. The leg pocket also has a zipper. The stretchy waistband makes these pants particularly comfortable. Good length, material is lightweight, quick dry.
Wow. I wasn't thinking there would be that much change between the original and V2, but I was WRONG. As commented below, the rise is incredibly SHORT in the front on these that there is no way to make them comfortable. Why only one back pocket? The leg cinches are gone (I actually used those). And they just fit odd, loose in some places, tight in others. Bring back what was so great about the previous version and scrap this entire iteration...and time to return this ill fitting version.
the color is more of a navy rather than dark zinc which is more of a grey. I have several MH pants and they are all dark grey or light black. REI needs to update the color with MH to let customers know before purchasing.
Fits a bit snugger than Dynama style in the shorts and long pants. May return them.
I have the Dynama 2 ankle pants, which I love. The capris are a much lower rise. If you like a low rise, you will love these. For me, I exchanged these for another color of the ankle pants.
I love the pull on style (no zipper, snaps, etc.)! The fabric is so light and the fit is super comfortable. My cell fits perfectly in the back pocket, the two front pockets are functional and stylish, and the little zippered pocket on the left hip is great for keys, lip balm, etc. These are great for hiking or just relaxing. I’m 5’5 and weigh 115 and the X-Small fits like a glove without being tight. Love love love them!
