I was initially looking for a backpack that I can use for light hikes, airport travel, or day travel in general. I was choosing between this pack and the Patagonia classic pack, I was biased to Patagonia as a brand but I still ended up with the Northface because it had what I was looking for that the Patagonia pack didn't have:
1. Sleek and versatile design
2. Water bottle compartments
3. More affordable
4. Materials used
5. Color options available
6. Comfortable padding (for me who has scoliosis)

The bag is well made with lots of compartments and pockets, and the tension elastic strapping is good for stuffing a coat or shell into. Unfortunately the stiff padded arm straps and the stiff padded laptop compartment mean that I can't make the pack sit lower, and I'm so short (short neck) that the top of the pack hits me in the back of the head if I try to look up while wearing it. If you are a taller woman or have a long neck this pack may work for you. I'll probably give it away and try to find something else. Disappointed in the lack of adjustability.

I bought this for my 11 year old daughter, who is starting middle school this year. She picked out the style and color, and she is over the moon with the "aesthetics." It has a nice laptop sleeve. That was definitely necessary this year; they can bring their Chromebooks home starting in 6th grade. Hers will certainly need the extra protection since she's still pretty young and learning to take care of her things. I also appreciate how deep the bottle pockets are on the sides, they fit a 30 oz Stanley Iceflow beautifully. It's easy to put in without being a pain, and holds it well with some shaking. With 4 school-age kiddos, I'm constantly worrying about them losing their water bottles since they all NEED Stanleys. The padding is also really nice and thick and there are two loops on the top for hanging.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this backpack for college because my old one was causing some serious back pain. I love it so far!! The only issue is that the package it came in was damaged in transit so the backpack was covered in dirt when I received it. I called customer support and was told to scrub the dirty spots with a toothbrush... it didn't help. Aside from the shipping issue, I love it and it's been a great backpack so far. No more back pain either!

I have a lot of north face products so I was expecting a great quality backpack for my start at nursing school. The Jester bag I got is extremely roomy, fits all of my supplies as well as it looks great! If you want a practical backpack that also has a great aesthetic, this is for you!

I have been using this backpack for school and it has been quite a change. The straps are super comfortable and I think it's the perfect size for books/notebooks. The material seems durable and I really like the color since it's dark enough where dirt will be less noticeable.

It arrived a little bit longer than my firsy purchase due to weather conditions which was understandable. I like it, it fits my stuff including my 13-inch tablet. I used it for my work and brought my review materials while working.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had to replace my old backpack as I transitioned to college and I definitely made the right choice by getting this one!! I love the accessible pockets as well as the side holders for water and other items. I can fit everything I need perfectly, there's so much space and little pockets for any amenity. Love the material as it keeps my computer and other electronics dry during rainy campus walks. Can't believe I didn't purchase this sooner. So worth it!

I'm so happy that I decided to get this product. It fits all of the things I need for school perfectly and was very excited with how it looks when I wear it. Before, my back ached after walking around school all day with my heavy load. Now, I still have the same amount of books, but because of the design of this backpack, it lifts the load of my shoulders and back. Also, the color matched the online image perfectly! I would definitely recomend this to others and my friends at school love their Jester backpacks too! The only thing I don't necessarily like is the size of the water bottle pockets on the sides because I use a larger water bottle. It still fits, but I have to squeeze it in.

I got the heather gray and pink color and I really love the way this backpack looks! It is very comfortable to wear and fits great. There's just one thing though, I ordered this online and when I got it I did not expect to have only 2 pockets. And the front pocket is very small which isn't what I expected either when I opened it. But this still fits my binder for school so it's good.

Ugh. I use this as my daily back pack at middle school. I bought it before the start of the year but now after only a few months the chest clip has pulled off and the water bottle pocket has holes and frayed. I don't think it's going to last a school year!
