Perfect

This jacket is perfection. It keeps you dry in the rain. It blocks wind but still breathes. It keeps you warm when it's cold, but never over heated. Whenever I step outside and have the internal debate, "is it cold enough to need a jacket? Will I be cold without one? Or will I get over heated with it regret my decision?" I picture Des Linden breaking the tape in this jacket at Boston 2018 as the first American woman to win that race in 33 years. I've never regretted wearing it, but if I did get over heated I know I could pack it into the pocket and strap it to my arm. But that's never happened. Runs true to size. Perfection.

Essential for rainy winter runs!

This jacket is so thin, I had my doubts it could keep me warm and keep out the wind and rain. I wore it on a rainy 10-mile run today and it not only kept the water off of me but it kept my base layer dry, too!! The hood also stayed in place and kept my head warm. I also felt that it was very breathable. It does keep you warm but I didn’t overheat either. I did also wear it to a turkey trot that didn’t have bag check so I had to pack it up and wear it as a backpack while I ran. It didn’t bounce AT ALL. This jacket is everything I need it to be. It’s worth the investment for cold rainy winters!!

Mixed Review

I have mixed thoughts on this jacket. It looks great and fits well. I love the cut of it when zipped up- it gives you a nice shape and not just a “box.” It does transition nicely into the little backpack, which is convenient. However, for actual running... I’ve had some issues. I’ve worn it twice in the rain. I did stay dry, but I was very hot and took it off the second the rain stopped. I also had trouble getting the hood to stay up as I ran and when it was up, the rain still got in my face. I ended up wearing a hat the second time I wore it with the hood pulled up over it. Not exactly what I was hoping for when I purchased it, but yet, I still really like it. I will continue to wear it around, but won’t run in it unless it’s really chilly out.

My New Favorite Jacket

This canopy running jacket is very comfortable and looks great! The material is stretchy so on cooler, wet days I could wear my fleece vest underneath and it is still comfortable. I have worn this jacket on runs when it started to sprinkle and have used the hood. I am a big fan of the attached hood! With the jacket zipped all the way up, the hood stays on my head even on blustery days. Have also packed it up when it got too warm and and wore it as a mini back pack. Love, love all of the pockets - 2 external zippered pockets and the two deep square internal pockets! It is not completely waterproof but works fine for light rain and dries very quickly. The sleeves are very comfortable. It is now my go-to jacket/windbreaker for running and for every day wear.

UGLY DESIGNS (AGAIN!) and (AGAIN)!

The New style design, quite frankly, is absolutely ugly! The Ruushed wrist is awful! Stick with the classics, Brooks! Thank God I bought the older versions! If this was last year’s design I would have purchased all 3 colors. Also, tired of the frumpy cut women’s rounded bottom cut tops. Your design cuts have become worse & worse over the years to the point I have stopped looking at all of your items. WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT you added the ugly “grandma” ruushed wrists. YUCK YUCK YUCK! Why ruin a good thing???? The CLASSIC AND TIMELESS STYLE DESIGN & CUT OF FORMER CANOPY JACKET WAS PERFECT. You lost me for good as a customer as of now. Tired of the ongoing ugly designs and cuts and colors that have become a constant!!!!!!!!!! Hire a new and fresh group of people! What you have now isn’t even 1 Star.

Philly Marathon Miracle Jacket

I just ran the Philly Marathon (2019) and used this jacket. Cold, wind, pouring rain, pelting snow pebbles and this jacket saved the day. It is a light jacket but keeps you dry and the heat in. I wore one light long sleeve shirt under this and was fine, never got cold. I love the wrists - you can keep your watch out of the rain and just roll up to see it, or tuck your hands under. The hood fit over my running hat - was tight enough to keep the rain out. Jacket was loose enough so you can run, The rain and snow pebbles just beaded up on the jacket and kept sealed tight and dry. It does not have a draw string bottom but it never rode up on me - it stayed right at my hip. Sizing is correct. I am 5'3" and 115 lbs. Small is fine, not too big. This is probably one of the few product reviews I have ever written in my life - but had to, as this jacket was a life saver.

I love this thin jacket. I've worn it at least 3 or 4 times since I got it for my long runs in the cooler weather (46-50 degrees). Keeps me somewhat warm until I need to take it off. Although it self folds into a backpack I still wrap it around my waist as it's very very light and doesn't bother my stomach having it there. At some point I will try out the backpack option, just haven't yet.

Maybe mine is defective?

I love the material and fit of this jacket. For reference, I am 5'6", 130# and the medium fits great! I have worn this jacket 3 times- 6 miles rainy 32 degrees, 9 miles rainy/windy 32 degrees and 5 miles wet snow 27 degrees. All 3 runs I wore a Brooks short sleeve under this jacket and I have the jacket zipped all the way up. The 6 mile run I was dry/warm, the 9 mile run I was dry but the wind penetrated the jacket making it pretty chilly when I was facing the wind and during the 5 miler, I kept feeling cold water run down my sport bra and sure enough at the end of the run my entire shirt was wet but only behind where the zipper was so I am thinking the zipper is the issue? Also, the hood acts like a parachute when the wind catches it which is super annoying....wish there was an option to just remove it. I give the jacket 3 stars because it has good points and functions almost like Brooks claims.

Great jacket!

This jacket is amazing. It fits well and is not restrictive in my movement. I can layer warmer layers underneath and it still is comfortable to wear. I’ve run in it in 30 degree weather and couldn’t believe how wonderfully it felt. I love the sleeves and the pockets are amazing. I probably won’t use the backpack feature but maybe?

Disappointing

I was looking for a running rain jacket for Seattle weather and initially had high hopes in this jacket, but was very disappointed. I ran in this jacket on a day with light rain for less than an hour and my shirt was pretty wet after! Definitely not water resistant at all! I’d be even more soaked if it was raining any harder!
