Morakniv Fixed-Blade Knives

Types of knives

• Pocket: Space-saving when the blade is not in use; ideal for hiking, backpacking or everyday tasks
• Fixed-blade: Stronger, heftier and more comfortable in hand; weighs more and requires a sheath for safe carry
• Keychain: Can be carried anywhere, but lacks the strength of larger options

Key features

• Locking blade: The blade folds down for protected carrying, but locks into place when opened to prevent accidental closure when using
• One-handed opening: The folding mechanism makes it easy to push the knife open with your thumb

Choosing a multi-tool

• Most include essentials like blades, screwdrivers, scissors and bottle openers
• Some have activity-specific gadgets
• May include one or more blades

• Choose a smaller one for backpacking; larger ones work for car camping
