Great grip, weak sole, run small.
Great grip on rock for scrambling but the sole started breaking down on the first use! These shoes were tight in the toe for me so if the sole were more durable I would have gone up a size from my normal size.
Fantastic combo of a shoe
These are great shoes to have in the arsenal. The toss between a trail runner and an approach shoe is the best combo because it adds the comfort and weight of a trail runner but stickiness of an approach shoe. I love to speed hike/trail run rocky terrain so these are a must have. Overall, I recommend these shoes to anyone looking for a stickier solution to trail runners or long distance comfort in an approach shoe. As for sizing, I did have to size up by .5 of my normal shoe size. That fit perfectly.
Narrower toe box than the TX3
FYI: The toe box is much narrower than the TX3. I ordered these because I adore my TX3s and wanted to try this model. I'm returning them only for that reason, as I have a boxy fore-foot and a bone spur on one foot at the big toe joint that requires some extra room. Otherwise I'd keep them; they look like fabulous approach shoes.
Laces don't hold up
Overall I like the shoes but unfortunately they don't hold up after 4 months of normal wear. The laces are too skinny and not durable enough. One is broken, the other is about to. A friend with the same shoes has the same problem, so I plan to return them.
Fit much smaller than other style of LaSportiva
This style fits much smaller than another style of the same size.
Need bigger sizes
Really disappointed that the largest size available for this is a 42 (USA 10) - I would say it fits like a 10.5 but I would need an 11 (my usual size). The shoe seems really good quality and the width is good for my narrow feet. It seems that they don't make this shoe in anything bigger than a 10 - the hunt continues.
Previous reviews have mentioned that this shoe
Runs small & narrow. Otherwise seems like a nice shoe, but I don't think I could get a size that would work for my normal-sized feet, 7.5 and medium width.
Love the style
They seems made well, good colors. I was looking for biking, hiking, bouldering in same shoe. I might have found it! Breaking them in now. I will check back after having them a bit.
worst laces ever
Very weak laces. My bf and I both have a pair and laces ripped after a few months.
