Great cut; fabric holds smells

I love everything about this shirt (I have two), but for the fact that the fabric not only holds my sweat smell but seems to amplify it. Maybe it's just me and my body chemistry, but all it takes is for the tiniest bit of sweat and this shirt stinks like no other piece of clothing I own -- even after a dog walk, I have to change out of the shirt. I wish I could take it on multiple-day trips, but due to it's stink-factor, it's just a day hiking and running shirt for me. Other than that -- I love the design of the shirt, especially the roomy neckline. Great colors offered, too. I really hope Patagonia can work on the fabric a bit more -- if they do, I would buy this shirt in every color.

Don't buy these shirts !

I'm very disappointed in the four Patagonia shirts I bought over the course of the last few months. I have Patagonia long sleeve quarter zips , which keep me warm and wick moisture. They are a few years old. The short sleeve shirts I bought this summer , ( 3 cool trail and one cool daily ) are (since there is no other way to put it) gross to wear !!! The fabric of these shirts , while they do FEEL slightly better ( comfort wise on hot days ) than cotton, apparently holds or traps the moisture/ odor in. As quick as ten minutes into a hike I start to notice the smell of my sweat. I'm sorry to be graphic , but I've never had this issue with any technical fabric or even with plain cotton tshirts. I wear she beast bike shirts for 40 mile rides in very hot and humid weather and never have an issue. I have been a runner and skier , and am a paddler , hiker and cyclist and practice yoga. So I've tried a lot of brands. And I expected to be happy with these shirts since other Patagonia shirts have worked for me in the past. I even tried using heavy water wash in the washing machine , doubling up on deodorant after my shower and trying a new deodorant. It isnt any of that. Because when I wear a cheap cotton tshirt to test it out , there is no odor. These shirts perform terribly. Who wants to worry about smelling badly because of what you are wearing ?

Best running tee

The best tech tee I have worn. I literally wear it even when I am not running. It feels like cotton, looks like cotton, but is so lightweight and breathable. Most importantly, the neckline is perfect. That has been my biggest challenge with running tops, the neckline is such a deep cut that you have to constantly pull is up, not this one. No other brand compares. Also, for reference, I am 95 lbs and I got the XS. It fits true to size. It comes in three different colors: blue, pink and a pale green.

See Through and Runs Large

The Good: Mauve color is pretty and true to what is shown on screen. Shirt is soft. The Bad: Material is transparent, you cannot wear this shirt without a cami underneath. The shirt being see through is the main reason for return. Also, This shirt runs a little large. For reference I have a 45" bust so I fall between XL and XXL. I wanted a looser fit, so I sized up. I am swimming in this shirt.

Runs a little small, etc.

I first took home a medium size, despite my instinct to size up. It runs a little tight through the torso for a woman with c cup breasts and a wider rib cage. Had to take it back and swap for a large. I’m 5-6” 125 lbs. so this shirt must be designed for even leaner, more athletically built women. The large drapes nicely and is long enough to cover my butt if I were wearing tights. I wore it outside in humid summer heat to pick tomatoes in the sun. There was a generous sweat stain across my back which evaporated quicker than with cotton. The fabric feels sturdy enough to survive the washing machine. I like the pale colors.

Tasteful in its simplicity; easy care

The simple and tasteful style of this shirt make it easy to wear in an office or outdoors for recreation. It can easily be hand washed and air dried, making it great for travelling, or just cutting down on machine use. Tucked in, and worn with a scarf or necklace, it has a nice casual elegance.

Go-to hiking shirt

I really love this shirt! I've worn it on all my hikes this summer and got a second one to wear when my first was in the wash. The fabric is soft and very comfortable and it's a flattering fit. My favorite aspect is that it dries VERY quickly. I've washed it out on backpacking trips and it's the first of all my clothes to dry. It's held up well to backpacking as well, which I was happy to see since it is a light fabric. I normally either wear a small or medium in outdoor brands, and the small is a perfect fit for me with this one - loose but not too baggie. Also, I have the green and while it looks quite sheer when you hold it up, it not see through once it's on somehow. The weight isn't listed, but if anyone is curious, mine comes in at 4 oz.

Great hiking and casual wear shirt

The fabric of this shirt is amazing - soft, lightweight, cool, and comfortable. Washes and dries beautifully and dries quickly when it gets wet out on the trail. The cut of the shirt also is very flattering, with true to size fit for me. One downside (and the reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars) is that, as mentioned in a few other reviews, the lighter colors are a little sheer. The dark green color is opaque, but I have the yellow and lavender colors as well, and in certain lighting you can see through the fabric.

absolutely the worst not for backpacking

I bought this for my AT thru hike a bit of the ways in, boy was it a flop. I wanted something light and comfortable that wouldnt hold odor. This is literally the worst smelling shirt I’ve ever worn. Literally after one day in the backcountry it smelled like death and when it got sweaty it would chaff terribly and didn’t dry quickly at all. I couldn’t recommend this product less. The patagonia light capilene is a thousand times better.

LOVE this shirt for hiking!!

I wore this on a six mile hike with a back pack and I LOVE it. The fabric feels great, the color is gorgeous. Fits very lose. I’m 5’6.5” weigh 125bls, 26” waist but DD bust and it’s still lose fitting and I got a size small. If you’re tiny without much of a busy you could easily go with a XS. I HIGHLY recommend this shirt. Absolutely love it:)

was a great shirt but material changed

I bought this shirt in short sleeves and long sleeves last summer and LOVED them, I wear them all the time, therefore when I saw it on sale I decided to buy a few more. Unfortunately, something was changed with the material and it's not the same at all. more of a cheaper lightweight material, not the jersey moisture wicking I was used too. so sad! I love the old shirt, bring it back! :(
