First of all this sleeping bag is super light. It's amazing how light they're able to make them and every ounce counts when hiking. Second of all this sleeping bag is super comfy. It seems like they thought of everything. The zipper is well insulated around it. The zipper glides easily. The zipper has a nice guard at the top so it doesn't hit your face. I also like the hooks on it that make it easy to hang and air out. The sack that comes with it is pretty big but you could easily buy a smaller cinch sack to make it super small if trying to pack compact. I also liked that the dark color shut out most of the light in case you wanted to sleep in after the sun rose.
Used this sleeping bag in July in the Sierras. It was warm enough for sleeping at 6000' in high 50s-low 60s but not at 10,000' in high-30s-low 40s, I was freezing through the nights, despite wearing multiple layers, incl. hats, socks and gloves. The sleeping bag felt snug and narrower at the hip than others, making it hard to curl up for warmth. It also seemed to be thinner on the back, which may work for those who like to sleep on their backs but not for side-sleepers. Otherwise it was lightweight, packed well and looked as pictured. Will return.
I camped with this 30 degree bag for two nights where temps probably got down to the mid 30s at night. I found myself consistently cold throughout the night, my lower half especially, and it was not a great night's sleep. I would definitely recommend either using this bag for warmer weather, or getting the 0 or 15 degree version if you're camping in colder temps. The extra foot space was nice, it gives more room than a typical mummy. The rest of the body is a tight fit. I'm 5'4" and the length was good for me, but I wouldn't want to be much taller in it, so size up the length if you are on the taller side. I love the fact that it is cruelty free down - that is a huge plus. I would say this is a decent bag for a beginner backpacker.
I haven't slept in a sleeping bag in over two decades and was pleasantly surprised by this one. I picked it out from what little my local REI had available in the middle of the pandemic and was so thrilled to climb into it my first time camping. It's warm but not oppressive and doesn't bunch up anywhere along my body (I turn over a lot in my sleep).
Great for multi-day hikes! I slept considerably better with this sleeping bag than I have on previous hikes. Plus, it’s super light and easily compressed. I purchased this on the sale, which helped out with the cost.
Wife loves it. Had to exchange for a long, she's 5-10 and I knew to get a long, but didn't. Other than that, great bag, kept her toasty warm on a trip to Ross Lake in the North Cascades in Sept
I have been looking to add a 30 degree back to my gear for non-winter camping and this bag is perfect. It feels nicely lightweight and relatively compact, I can easily fit this in my backpack. I'm 5'9'' and the Women's size fits well, if I was much taller I might opt for the unisex version.
This bag is super comfortable and the temperature rating is very accurate. I particularly appreciate the zipper and the inside zipper lining. The zipper is quite large and sturdy, making it easy to zip up without snagging, and the liner is thick enough to keep any draft out. The bag is also spacious and fit me perfectly at 5'7'' and 140 lbs. There is room to stretch both legs and your arms, but its snug enough to keep warmth in!
The Bishop Pass 30 sleeping bag is perfect for a weekend camping trip. Living in a warmer climate, I did not find the Bishop Pass 30 to bee too warm at night. I felt very comfortable and cool. The material is really lightweight and can be compacted if you roll tightly. Also, the material is really durable, so I will be using this sleeping bag for years to come.
Not thrilled with this bag as I was cold camping in this bag on a night in the 50s.
