Just buy the pack.
I am 5’11” this backpack fits great and holds extra base layers, jacket, snacks, water and baby gear with ease. A ton of space for everything with external hydration bladder storage. It seemed like this pack had more adjustability than the similar gergory pack. That influenced my decision.

Great features, but not for tall people
I have used this pack for 3.5 months almost every weekend with my 1 year old. It has some big positives, but it also has two fatal flaws and I will be returning it. Cons: - It does not adjust to tall people. I am 6'4'' and it's no where close to large enough for me. I would struggle to see this working well for anyone 6'' or taller. Important note: Their is a design flaw on the adjustment where it appears as though there is an "L" setting very high up, but it is not possible to actually get there. Perhaps they just re-used this part of the pack from another design, but the REI rep and I both agree, it's a mistake. - It does not fold very flat at all. You can push in the kick stand, but even that doesn't savbe you hardly any space. So it takes a LOT of room in the car. Pros: - Really like all of the pockets. Very well thought out. - Really easy to get in/out and our kid loves it. - The sun shade works so well and is a great design - For people who are not tall, it's probably very comfortable. I wish I could keep this, but it just doesn't fit. My son loves it, but I'll be returning it.

Not Short People Friendly

I'd say if you are 5'4"" or under (especially with a short torso) this pack will not be comfortable for you. I wanted so badly to enjoy this carrier; I love Osprey's products--but this carrier is a bit of a let down. I am 5'1"". The grab handle gets in the way and forces my head forward and down. There is no way around this even with multiple adjustment attempts. It is even more noticeable when I have my hair in a ponytail. I have also noticed that this carrier makes me want to tip forward at the hips. I'm forced to use trekking poles to circumvent this and if I forget them I am miserable while hiking. No amount of adjustments have alleviated this problem & I'm not sure what causes it (maybe my head being forced forward/down?). Otherwise, the pack is very comfortable and very well constructed. The hip belt is supportive, all components are easily adjustable, the shade canopy is fantastic (far more protective than competitors), great harness for little one, storage galore. My daughter thoroughly enjoys sitting in it from what I can tell...she sleeps most of the time. I'm jealous I can't ride in it, personally. My husband (who is 5'6"") has been designated as the baby carrier wearer until I can find something else more comfortable. He has no complaints about the comfort of the carrier.

Amazing tool for traveling the world

Been using this for 1.5 years now and it has been all around Latin America. It is perfect for these countries as they're really not stroller friendly which the steep grades, high sidewalks and rocky roads. The most intense hike I did with the backpack was Volcan acatenango, the pack plus baby probably weighed over 50 pounds at the start with the water and food attached to the outside. My shoulders were tender the next day so I wouldn't recommend going over 45 if possible. The pack is very durable. We got the carry case for when we fly and it has kept it clean enough. In total it's been on 16+ flight segments and had gotten lost at the bogota airport and shipped back to us and is still in good condition. The only two cons I can think of are the hip belt pockets aren't big enough for the larger modern phones, I have a 12 pro max for reference. And that the sunshade doesn't cover the babies legs at all. He wears UVskins to protect his legs and we have occasionally wrapped a towel around the pack to cover him up.

Many pockets and biggest storage

I was considering Osprey Poco Plus and Deuter kids comfort. If u considered kids comfortable, u should take Deuter item. But if u think about storage and pockets, should take Osprey Poco Plus. * Seat belt - Osprey Poco Plus : tooooo tight - Deuter kids comfort : very comfortable * Cushion for baby face/chin - Osprey Poco Plus : normal - Deuter kids comfort : great comfortable * Pockets - Osprey Poco Plus : great enough - Deuter kids comfort : normal * Sunshade - Osprey Poco Plus : easy to in and out - Deuter kids comfort : harder than Osprey

Ranks in the top 3 best backpacks for a reason

I read and read and read reviews trying to pick the best backpack for a strenuous hike at Mount Rainier so that we could bring along our toddler. My husband was wooed by a color of the Thule and because he would be the one carrying, I reluctantly agreed. The poco plus is consistently in the top three best baby carriers for a reason. We took our Thule out for a spin at the park and my husband immediately went back and exchanged it for the Osprey poco plus. This thing is super comfortable for the toddler and has tons and tons of storage for us. If I wasn’t trying to take a little weight office my husband‘s back I wouldn’t even need to bring a day pack. The built-in sun shade is awesome, we even put it up when he’s falling asleep just so he can lean his head against the sides. It is that sturdy. There are pockets on the side that make it easy for our toddler to grab his own snacks and water bottle. I love the built n foot stirrups and I can’t say enough about the padding. He can comfortably sleep in this thing. The Thule had an exposed frame That our toddler hit his head on multiple times in just a few block walk. The poco plus has made sure that’s not a problem. It’s pretty easy to adjust everything, obviously he’s a heavy kid so my husbands has been more comfortable, but considering, it’s a pretty cushy setup, I wish we would’ve purchased it sooner.

Annoyance for short people

Overall we liked this one compared to the Deuter Kid Comfort Active. The cockpit harness is very secure for our petite 8 month old (Deuter harness was huge on her), and clips on back make it really easy to get her in and out. Also really like the sides of the sun shade for extra sun and wind protection for baby. My biggest complaint is that being super short (5ft 1” and 120lbs), both the handle and the back of the carrier really push against the back of my head, forcing it forward. This is not an issue for my husband (5ft 11”) unless he is really walking on an incline- then he says he can feel just the handle at the back of his neck. I’ve figured out a way to make it manageable by loosening the straps at top of shoulders that bring the carrier more or less against your back. That gives me a little space between the carrier and my head, but it also makes me want to tip back with the weight of baby and frame, so it’s not ideal. We ended up keeping this one because our baby was most secure and comfortable in it, I just wish the fit was better for petite people. I’ve measured my torso for the right adjustments, but when I wear it to correctly distribute weight it definitely pushes my head down and makes it hard to even look straight on.
