Great fit and adjustability

Black Diamond is my favorite brand for harnesses. I needed to replace my old harness and I was having a hard time to find something that would have the same features (2 waist buckles, adjustable leg loops, light) while being in a lower price range, until I found the 4S model. The harness is light, comfortable and it allows you to fit it to your body shape easily. Most harnesses now have a single waist buckle, while it makes it faster to put on/off but often leads to have the harness not well centered around your waist, which becomes really uncomfortable both when climbing and belaying. This 4S model allows you to regulate both sides around your waist (and your legs loops), for maximum personalization and comfort!

Almost a perfect harness

Great harness, especially for such a deal on Expert Voice. However, I do have one issue to highlight for others. Although this harness has a ton of adjustability and comfort items, the thigh loops are too narrow. If you are a person who hikes and does leg day in the gym, you may have some issues with leg loop diameter. I am just barely able to use the harness while having plenty of spare room in the waste, and only an inch (at most) of slack left in the leg loop straps when tightened securely. Most climbers are built like a 2x4 piece of lumber, yes, but it wouldn't cost anything to add another inch of leg loop slack.

Great option for women

I've been using this harness for indoor climbing for about two years and have had no issues with it. Great quality and longevity: I top rope at few times a month and there still is no noticeable depreciation. I appreciate how this harness fits my body and is adjustable, as I am bigger than the average climber (I'll generally wear women's L-XL in REI brands). The loops are great: My lower waist area doesn't comfortably fit most belts for chalk bags, but I can easily attach my chalk bag with a carabiner. Really comfortable, and I don't really notice any discomfort from the harness at all while climbing, even when resting mid-air in the middle of the route. My only qualm is sometimes the belt itself can get kind of sweaty when the gym is hot because it's heavily padded.

Solid Choice

I purchased this harness to replace my old one, which had exceeded its recommended lifespan by a couple of months. I reached out to Black Diamond to ask if they offered a recycling program to properly dispose of my old harness, but unfortunately, they don’t have one at this time. However, they kindly offered me a 30% discount toward a new harness, which I used for this purchase. The harness is great! I am 4’11. 5” and the thighs are adjustable. Corporate, if you see this, I think introducing a harness recycling or trade-in program would be a great opportunity to encourage returning customers while also promoting safety by ensuring expired gear is properly retired and not used beyond its expected lifespan.

Favorite Harness

I've tried a few different harnesses for climbing, and this one is definitely the most Comfortable and adjustable. It's a great all-around harness, the structured gear loops hold everything off of you for sport climbing and I get compliments on it all the time at the gym on how comfortable it looks. The legs and waist are extremely adjustable with 4 double-backed buckles, and it's great for someone with thick thighs and a small waist.

Epic harness!

I enjoy having the large degree of adjustability. I can loan it to any of my friends with varying body types and all of them can use it just as well. It is plenty comfortable for sport climbing and would be fine for trad as long as you won't need to hang for a super long time. I found I could sit in it for about 15-20 minutes before I had any issues. Overall, I think this is a really great harness for beginners with a wide range of applications that eliminates most of the guesswork surrounding harness sizing. I would reccommend the Momentum 4s for sure!

Great for square body shapes

This harness is perfect if you have a square body shape with smaller legs. I've struggled to find a harness that fits my waist and legs and this is the one! Usually harnesses have large leg openings but this one is very adjustable for smaller legs.

Lovely harness. Fit is very

Lovely harness. Fit is very adjustable. 32 inch waist and above get a m/l anything under; go s/m. I have a 29-32 inchish waist and I still had plenty of room for adjustments. I personally have had some weight issues so I wasn’t able to get a dead on size harness. I used to be 180 and a large harness was it for me. The wide range in the size really takes out a lot of guesswork. If you’re worried about it being too big it goes there. If you’re worried about being too small it goes there as well.

Great but not perfect

Pretty good harness, but not perfect. The extra cushion makes this harness really comfy, which on long routes can be necessary, but leads to very sweaty legs. Double-back buckles have always been a must for me. I like the security and being able to adjust all the tightness settings. While the waist loop was perfect, the leg loops felt a little too tight with not much room for adjustment. Maybe I just have big legs? Still a reliable harness for both gym and outdoor sessions.
