I'm usually a size 6 and I'm 5'9". I bought a medium. They're way too short and they're uncomfortably tight.
I live in Portland, OR, so it doesn’t get all that cold here—I am mostly dealing with chilly, wet weather. These are a good layer for our conditions. No, I wouldn’t take them to Alaska. They are a bit see-through and not something that would double as stand-alone leggings. But the fit is good and the rise isn’t too low (which is usually my problem as I have a long torso). If you want a light wool under layer they do the job. If you want heavier layers or tights you can strip down to on the trail or a ski run, this isn’t what you are looking for.
These fit me snugly without being uncomfortably tight (though are predictably too long for me at 5'2", 106lbs, 26" waist, 36" hips). They are shockingly soft and smooth. The first day I tried them out, I immediately wondered if there were any left so I could get more pairs. I run cold and will feel cold even wearing heavyweight wool baselayers from SmartWool, so keep that in mind when I say they are "reasonably warm". They help me keep warm under jeans during, say, 45 degree and rainy weather.
These should be more clear about the fabric content, but for dog walks, shoveling, & light hikes, these have been great from -20 - +35°F. I layer them under one or two pairs of fleece leggings & am very comfy. I don't think they are meant for Arctic conditions tho, and wearing them under jeans will be less effective than a tighter fitting pant or proper snow pant. Size up tho, these are very snug.
These are warm, but they don't fit people with wide hips. I have another pair of tasc base layer pants, which I've worn holes into because I love them so much, so I bought these to replace my old pair. These are, sadly, a poor substitute for my old pair. I went up a size (old: medium, new: large) because I wanted a little extra room in the hips and thighs and these are WAYYY too tight. They don't fully cover my butt (hang down in the back) and are stretched so tight that they are see through, but the ankles are baggy. Super disappointed.
These are amazing. Thin so they do not bungle up in your pants, durable, high quality wool. Shaped for a woman's body and fits perfectly. Does not slip down. I hand wash them and store them in a plastic bag in the summer.
Very thin but warm and soft. Will layer well under fitted pants. I can't wear most merino and smartwool is way too itchy but these are perfect near skin! I normally wear a medium but felt like the waist band was a bit to tight. Returned for large and worked well. I'm 5'6 120lbs, thin but wider hips and butt.
have worn a handful of times in one month, and has already developed a hole. if I had to do over, I'd have sized up
I had to return these because the size large was just too small. They aren’t long enough in the seat (waist to crotch) for a tall person, and they kept slipping down. I bought a size large in a competitive brand and they fit perfectly.
Very thin material, almost see-through. The seam opened in a small area. Easy to fix, but not what I would expect for the price.
