I Finally Found the Snoeshoe
I've used Tubbs for years and had countless hours on the snow in various conditions. However, I frequently picked up snowballs under the ball of my foot - even after trying many different techniques to prevent the sticking. These snowshoes do not ball up the snow. I love the hill climbing bar, it makes the climb seem like it is flat. I can add many more miles with this feature. The toe plastic netting holds my foot firmly and the shoe stays tight even after hours of trekking. I am so happy with this purchase.
Another solid MSR snowshoe Revo Ascent Womens
I own MSR Lightning Mens and bought these for my daughter. We used them and they work fantastic. Bindings are the best and I would argue not holding is that you have to pull the strap tight before cinching in the hole. I didn't notice a noise difference but my daughter said part way through that hers seem louder. That is the only comment that has me thinking do I return and get the womens Lightning with the soft floor or stick with these plastic. Overall great shoe. Overall I didn't notice any noise difference but she did. Snow makes noise when you step on it with any shoe. Will use them a few more times and then adjust rating higher to 5 if that is not a factor. Thanks to REI having the one year it allows us to try the others. I will say traction is the best with these msr, heal lift is awesome and the paragon bindings are the best. Those three factors were my must have features. If you go for less money I hope you are on flat ground, if on Ice I see people sliding down hills and these bite in. I also like that adding the tails is nice in deep snow powder but then to take them off when not needed. Great shoes. Get back to you on the noise. If others wonder why not get the Lightning to start if so great, it is because I am not sure how much or if she would use them.
LOUD and Straps do not stay put
I have had these for almost two years now. Although they grip the snow well, the straps do not stay put and I have to use zip ties and clip to keep them in place. Plus they are a bit heavy and the loudest snow shoes ever! :(
First snowshoe
My husband got me these after researching a lot. We’d prefer the lightning ascent but we saved a chunk by going with these instead. I love them and I love the color.
snowshoes
i've used these snowshoes one time only. i felt that i needed another strap to secure my feet. too much movement. considering returning them.
Loud but comfortable
So loud! But these adjusted fit on my small-size boots when others did not.
satisfied!
Putting them on initially was difficult but one the toes are set the on and off was easy. They are comfortable, my toes feel like the stay in place, my feet didn’t pop out even when in deep powder. Wish they were a little lighter, they were out of the ultra lights when I went so I settled on these, but overall great!
Bought second pair
The best snowshoe I have ever had. It’s so comfortable for my feet without typical stripes on other brands & models. One year later I bought the second pair for my daughter
First time snowshoer - very happy.
We are very happy with the MSR Revos (my husband and I both bought a pair). We had never snowshoed and found them easy to get on and off as well as walk in them. The heel adjuster is super easy to put up on steeper inclines and easy to get back down. The only negative is that we have noticed they are noisier than the Lightning. In our group the people with the next level up from the Revos didn't make as much noise! That said we recognize the quality of ours and are happy with them.
Great all around
These are my 3rd pair of MSR snowshoes, and while the lightning will forever be my favorites, these are a close second. They have worked well so far on various terrain types and about .2-.6 meters of snow.
