Not a bad cup of joe
I’m getting about 26-27 10 ounce reasonably strong, quite drinkable cups out of each jar of Alpine Start, since switching over to from the same coffee packaged in the long narrow single serving pouches. The pouches would look quite familiar to patrons of a giant coffee retailer I shall not name. But I believe I am allowed to observe that Alpine Start is, in my opinion, a better coffee. As to the screw top jar: a much appreciated bit of minimalist packaging! No blister pack to rip open or flimsy plastic for the landfill. And when the coffee is gone, it becomes a sturdy little resealable canister for your lunch box or pack.
Zero Fuss Morning Joe
Good tasting instant coffee, I much prefer Alpine Start over Starbucks Via. Buying the bulk sized pack is a no brainer for those on the go. Running late for work but need coffee before running out the door? Reaching for the Alpine Start will get your day started off right. Same goes for pre-dawn missions in the outdoors, obviously. Not the best tasting coffee I’ve ever had (what do you expect?) but the quality is well above any other instant coffee brands out there. It dissolves nicely for iced coffee. My mixing method is as follows: add an inch of cold water to cup, add desired amount of Alpine blend, mix well, then top off cup with cold water.
Decent coffee, mixes well, great packaging
I've tried quite a few brands of instant coffee for travel or times when I don't want to mess with any real equipment. I'd say the flavor is average, and the powder makes it very easy to dissolve quickly without needing to mix with a spoon or stick. The package seals really well, is light weight and has very "packable dimension". I'll probably keep the container when this is used up and fill it up with some UCC Japanese instant coffee which has the smoothest and best taste of anything I've tried. One downside is that the price is about double of what I would've expected.
Perfect for mountain mornings
This is by far my favorite instant coffee. I used to bring along a plastic pour over kit for camping trips, but this coffee has made trips a lot easier without sacrificing taste. I’m also glad they have this 30 serving jar rather than the individual packets (way less packaging).
Good coffee
Tastes better than Starbucks in my humble opinion!
Decent instant coffee
Decent instant coffee for backpacking. I don't think there is ever going to be a 'best' instant coffee when your use to whole beans ground fresh regularly. But when you are going on a backpacking trip and are concerned about the weight, this definitely will do.
Delicious didn't taste instant
Delicious instant coffee I took camping on a 3-day trip and shared with the six campers. A few people asked if I brought a French press, because the coffee was so good. I'm going to also keep this around the house in case I run out of beans.
Tasty instant coffee
More expensive than some other options, but delicious and worth the splurge! Dissolves easily and is a great way to start the day when backpacking. I only wish the packaging were biodegradable or otherwise plastic-free.
best flavor of all the instants
I've tried several brands of instant coffee, including really pricey ones that cost $4/cup, but this is the only brand I've re-bought. I usually stuff the single-serving pouches in my suitcase when traveling, but I recently got this bulk bag for our camping setup and have been a big fan of less camping waste.
Best camping coffee!
This is just hands down the best camping coffee option there is. I love the bulk size so you can easily make everyone's cup of coffee in the morning and it's easy to make it stronger or weaker depending on preference. The best part is not having to deal with the mess of using real beans and having to clean it up. Highly highly recommend. You won't regret.
