worth every dime
we vacation to the remote out islands of the Bahamas where beaches are beautiful but primitive and lack amenities. we are also strictly "carry-on" travelers. The folded size, the comfort, the ease of set up, stability in the sand, hit the mark and set the bar so high i don't think they can be beat! we used these chairs many times on five different beaches, some hike into, some down a small trail, super convenient.

Great chair but not for the beach.
Bought a couple of these to replace bulky back pack chairs. They easily fit into a large day pack with snorkelling gear. They are easy to assemble and solid to sit in at the beach. The only issue is if you sit in them with a wet bathing suit the water just stays in the seat as there are no holes for it to drain and dry. I see Helinox offers a "summer kit" for $C95 at the Canadian COOP which looks to be a solution (fabric with holes in it) but that sure would make ann expensive beach chair.

Worth Every Penny

I am a tall guy (6'4") and really appreciate that this chair supports my back and neck after a long day on the trail or the water. It is very easy to assemble and disassemble, and extremely comfortable even if it is quite low to the ground. I have used and abused this chair over the last two years and finally had one of the poles break, I contacted Big Agnes and they had me send it in. They then proceeded to fix not only the broken pole but also three others that were showing stress, did not charge me a dime (except to ship to them), and had it back to me in less than a month. A great product and great service, I am a very satisfied customer.

Beach Bound

I purchased this chair after sitting in a friends Helinox Zero chair. Thats the original version of the chair. I purchased the "beach chair" version because my only complaint with the Zero was that your head wasn't supported. The beach chair allows you to lean back comfortably. I've even been able to take a nap in it. Some people complained about how low to the ground it is but that doesn't bother me. Its easy enough to get in and out of. The only downside is that while it folds up and is easy to assemble, its too big to take on backpacking trips if you're counting ounces. I use it car and paddle board camping where the larger pack size doesn't matter so much.

Love this chair!

We’ve had several camp chairs that are similar and none of them feel very stable. This is very comfortable I can relax and I’ve even taken a light nap while sitting in it! Great for heavier people but you either have to be able to get up from a squat or not be embarrassed to roll out then stand up lol I do both! Works great for our son with cerbal palsy because it is so stable

Best portable chair

I bought this chair to bring to the park and beach. It's extremely light and you can assemble it within 1 minute. It has a tent poles set up so it's easy to assemble and dissemble as well. It's better than just buying a beach chair because this chair actually has 4 legs, which makes it more flexible for uneven surfaces. Super comfortable, feels like I'm on a hammock. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes to bring chairs to beaches, parks, or anywhere to just hang out. It also comes with a bag - I bought a shoulder strap for it since it doesn't come with one unfortunately. You can find a universal adjustable shoulder strap for it at REI, which makes it easier to bring around.

Perfect for a long motorcycle journeys!

Yes, it's pricey but worth every single cent. It's light, compact, tough and very easy to setup. I'm 190cm tall and my weight is 120Kg + heavy motorcycle jacket, pants... That chair is still comfortable for me and carry my size without any problems.

Low and uncomfortable

This chair is likely great for the right person and depending on your needs, but I found it to be much too low to the ground, unstable, narrow and uncomfortable. Specs say 10" off the ground. Not sure where they measure, but my rear is probably more like 5" off the ground. The seat then rises at a somewhat steep angle making it hard to stretch your legs out. Shorter, smaller people might not be bothered, but I'm 6'3" and this chair isn't comfortable enough for the price. It is very lightweight, packs small, and assembles easily, but I'd spend 10 more minutes assembling if it meant I'd have a comfy chair. YMMV.

So comfortable!!!

I bought this in a rush last month before a hastily planned camping trip. I'd never even heard of Helinox before- anyway, point being, this is the most comfortable camp chair my butt has ever had the pleasure of gracing. Setup is pretty easy and the shock cord really helps keep everything together. I really don't know how they were able to make such a comfortable chair with such little weight. I'm roughly 5'11 and 185 pounds and it easily accommodates my derrière while still being quite stable. Expensive yes, but worth the money if you ask me.

great chair

This chair was very expensive (hence, only 4 stars...) but I bought 2 to take on a road trip to both beach and mountains. The chairs are very light and easy to pack and set up. The best part about them is the fact that they support your head and neck so you can snooze in the sun! They sit very close to the ground and are a little hard to get up from if you are as old and out of shape as I am!

Excellent low profile, lightweight, portable

This is an excellent, low profile, lightweight, comfortable, and very portable chair. My wife and I just spent two days at the KMVR music festival in Grass Valley California. We sat in these chairs for many hours. They were very comfortable with your knees pulled up or your legs out straight. The backs are high enough that you can rest your head against them (I even took a long nap in mine). Most chairs of this type have a very short back which gives no support for you back or head. The carry bag velcros to the upper part of the back and can be filled with something to use as a head rest, or you can buy the optional pillow to put in it. They are lightweight and pack pretty small. Two of them fit in my medium size daypack. The chairs are not inexpensive but are very worth the money. I highly recommend them.
