They split apart after 1 year
I liked these until they fell apart. Winter boots so only a few months of use and they're useless. I got the wide ones which I've never done, but they fit great. The tread wasn't very deep so I was afraid the bottoms would wear away quickly but never got the chance to find out because they split open. My last pair was Vasque brand and they lasted 21 years, Colombia isn't great for boots I guess, surely seems like a bad design
A pair of work horses. Boots by Columbia.
I needed a pair of boots that would be ok in the cold and rainy weather. They were tight but I was able to break them in. I appreciated them partially because of the price which was a good discount. I have been wearing them mostly but today started to rotate them with a boot that has a leather upper. My feet sweat less with a leather upper.
Comfortable hiking shoe! while it lasted...
Honestly this shoe did everything one could expect it to. However after less than a year after very light use (probably only worn <15 times) both shoes have massive seem failures. The shoe even charged through water without soaking through until the seem came apart. Aside from the seemingly poor manufacturing the shoe was very comfortable, true to size, and very stable and supportive in variable terrain.
Falling apart after only 15 months!
Bought a pair on November 15, 2020 at the REI store in Dillon, Colorado. A couple of weeks ago I noticed the uppers are separating from the soles of both boots. I went back to REI, but was told the warranty was only good for a year. I called Columbia's warranty department today and was told the same thing. I have never had a pair of boots fall apart like this. I have not done anything unusual with these boots--a little hiking, but mostly just Colorado winter wear. I will never buy another pair of Columbia boots.
Great Pair of Boots
Very nice lightweight hiking boots. Hiked for about 3 hours on trails that had been saturated from 2 weeks worth of rain. These boots held up very well in the mud and puddles while keeping my feet dry and warm.
Good fit after replacing insole.
I normally wear a size 9 in boots. After reading other reviewers comments about this boot fitting narrow, I purchased a size 10. Immediately out of the box the boots fit really narrow, even while just sitting down. The pressure was causing my foot to go a little numb. Forget trying to stand up in them! I was about to return them to a local REI store, but then I decided to switch out the insoles for an unused size 10 running shoe insole that I had stored away. With the insoles switched out, the fit was perfect, with some wiggle room in the toe box. The original insoles that come with the boots are thick and rigid. This past weekend I wore them for a combined time of about 5-6 hrs outdoors walking in about 1 to 1.5 ft of snow at times and they felt light and flexible, and fit like my running shoes. They weren't as warm as I had hoped though. With temperatures around 5 degrees F here in the Chicago area, my toes were cold after a few hrs. I was wearing thicker ski socks. Overall, I am really happy with these boots. I took 1 star off the rating for the issue with the insoles.
Columbia boots sizing issue
While the construction of these boots seems solid, I was forced to return them because of the sizing: they run quite narrow, and unless there is a "wide" version you will need to go a full size bigger if you take a "D" or "E" width shoe.
Nice first hiking shoes
This pair of hiking shoes are very good. I am glad I ordered one size bigger. It is a very snug fit. I listen to a lot of the reviews indicating that you should order one size bigger so I followed up and it worked out for me thank goodness. They feel very nicely when I am hiking. These are my first pair of hiking shoes and I’m not used to them, they’re a little heavy but I believe that’s just the way they are they are not a sneaker. So far so good and I am very happy I purchased them and I highly recommend them for any one. I did get them at a nice sale price so that help me with the choice also. Enjoy
Surprisingly good!
For such an inexpensive boot, these are surprisingly good: light, warm, and I can cinch them snug around the ankle. My main complaints come from their being a little shorter than other books like this and so not only does that mean you're exposed to a little more snow, the 2 pairs of hooks for the laces at the top are a little close together and it can be tricky to catch just one hook with the lace each time when lacing them up.
