[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered these in the color major as an addition to a number of more casual SORELs, hoping I could wear them to work and out but still have a sturdy footing. I live in Maine so ice and snow are inevitable. These boots are the perfect blend of form and function. I’ve worn them everyday since I received them. They are comfortable to wear all day, look great with dresses and skirts as they do with jeans. I can’t say enough how much I love these boots. I already own the Emelie and Caribou boots for mud season and snowstorms, the Cates are the perfect addition when I need something a little more dressy.
A Perfect Fit - True to Size
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried on my beautiful boots as soon as I received them and what a perfect fit! Perfect! I was so excited to find cute black leather boots that I could wear during our cooler months here in Arizona! And they are so comfortable with nice arch support too. I wore them the next day after receiving them, and even after 10-12 hours of running errands and cleaning around the house, my new boots felt like a pair of already broken-in boots. They look great with everything, especially jeans. My left foot has had surgery and since that I’ve had a very difficult time finding cute/cool looking shoes/boots that are also comfortable - these boots totally fit the bill. I normally wear a size 8.5 and these are true to size!

Gorgeous Boots
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These boots are AMAZING! I ordered my regular size, 10, and they fit me perfectly as I do not wear socks. Right out of the box they were so comfortable I wore them all day and then ordered another pair! They are simply gorgeous boots that not only look good but perform well. SO very warm, waterproof, and the thick nubby sole grips well on ice and snow. I cannot say enough about these boots. Sorel quality and good looks. I wear them every single day in the city of Boston and in the country in NH. Purchased the Carmel and Major. LOVE LOVE LOVE them.
I expected to be better
For some reason I am not that impressed with my boots this time. I have many Sorels ,and I was excited about this pair. They are tight, and is not about my feet, I am 5.5 and skinny feet, they feel very tight and the first day I wore them my feet were sore, that has never happened to me with any of my other Sorels. I am thinking about taking them back, or exchanging for a another size, which I had never had to do it before. I still recommend them because they are very cool, but be aware of the size and tightness of the shoe
Love my Sorels!
I purchased the Cate Bootie in my usual street size and they were perfect. I don't wear thick wool socks (just normal running socks) and my feet are narrow, but there was minimal breaking in needed. The Cate heel is perfect because it gives me a bit of height without feeling like I'm wearing "heels" at all. I also love that the rubberized sole is so grippy AND quiet! I walked in slushy snow-covered NYC streets and these boots felt very sturdy. I also like that they're practically silent -- it makes almost no noise when my heel strikes the ground (indoor or outdoor) which is also an unexpected plus. I didn't have any issues with the shaft height like other reviewers mentioned, but I do wish that the toe box had just a bit more of a slight pointed almond-toe shape to it to make it look a little more classy.
Perfect boot!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own these in black and red. They both fit tight right out of the box but the leather loosens up with a wear or two. The red boots are more rust colored with the color on the back being more brown which was unexpected but actually makes them more wearable and less of a statement piece. I’ve been wearing both boots a ton this winter and they are holding up great. I’m sure I’ll have them for another few more winters so I’m super happy with the purchase.
Wanted to love these...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to love these shoes! I first ordered a 7.5 (my usual Sorel size) and they were way too narrow. I don’t have wide feet so that was surprising. Then I returned and ordered an 8. They were way too big even with large socks. Such a bummer... I truly believe these would have been my perfect shoes if they weren’t made with such a narrow fit. Surprisingly the Cate Cut-out (similar shoes) fit perfect. I believe it is just this specific shoe.

These look exactly as I expected them to. The footbed is super comfy and they are easy to wear all day. My only complaint is that they are a little difficult to get on. I have a high arch, so I’m sure that plays a bit of a factor...but I was surprised that they are difficult to get on and off my HEEL. Once on, they are totally comfortable and my high arch is fine. Hoping the heel breaks in a little in regards to getting on and off.

I just bought these boots for my trip coming up in November. I wanted something that was going to be cute, comfortable, and had a little bit of traction just in case I run into any snow or ice on my trip. I’ve had these boots for about a week now and I’m SO IMPRESSED! Literally! They are so comfortable! They give me so much height (I’m super short), they have a lot of traction so I don’t feel worried about walking on ice or snow, they are waterproof so I don’t have to worry about getting them wet, and they are overall so fashionable! I can wear them with skinny jeans or leggings or I can wear boot cute jeans! I can even wear dresses with them! Best purchase ever and I HIGHLY recommend getting a pair!
