Works good for long backpacking trips. It does what it's supposed to. having to write a minimum characters for you is stupid, hope REI is listening.

Not quite as described

Just received this and fully charged it before use. That means, four solid lights not blinking. I completely drained my iphone Xr and charged it with this power bank. It took 2 hrs 40 min. to charge my phone to 100%. However, what was left on the bank was one out of four solid lights. Which, to me, translates to one full charge but not two as described. I did not use my iphone while it was being charged. It was on but only to receive text messages that i did not view. Charging capacity was a big disappointment given the battery weight.

Really awkward to charge it..

The block is actually REALLY awkward to charge. It was clearly made to be used with the solar charger this brand makes. The only input source is a rotating external USB “charging tip” that you plug directly into a wall plug.. and it falls out of every single one I own but one. I’m rating it a 3 because once charged, it works great for backpacking (light weight, great size, brought my phone up to full charge from 20% and only exhausted 1/4 of the available charge)

Nice Compact Battery

I used this in the hiking to Cloud Rest Trail. Recently, my old iPhone tend to discharge quickly and the battery became almost 0% at the peak. I charged my iPhone at the peak with this, in 20min or so, it became about 85%, so quick and easy. What I noticed was it stopped charging at less than 90%. I don't know this is caused by iPhone side reason or Flip 24 side, but any way it did not reach to 100%. I'm planning to use this combining with Nomad 10 Solar Panel. I already purchased it and tested at home. It looks working as expected, and will help me for long backpacking trip in the future.

Does not work with my Galaxy S8 or my low old low

I took two new Flip 20s out on a four day trip with the intension of using it to recharge my S8. I had a great deal of trouble getting the charger to connect and charge. I returned home to use different cables on my phone thinking that my original cable was shorting, getting the same results. I even attempted to charge an old nook with the same connection issues. I did attempt to contact GoalZero with no results. I feel it is quit obvious the connection issues are known within the company and they choose to not to acknowledge the problem. I would not recommend using any of their products.

Works great

Works great. Charges two phones as advertised. It charges up reasonably quickly and charges phones reasonably quickly, faster than charging off of my car stereo. Couple of times I have found that my iphone did not recognize the device. When I turned off my phone and turned it back on, problem solved. I’ve used on anumber of multi day backpacking trips. Good product. I’ve had poor results with some of the chargers that you buy off Amazon from Noname companies, so I would definitely recommend getting this instead if you’re gonna be out there and really need it

Great portability and function with solar Nomad10

This is a combined review for the Goal Zero Flip 24 Power Bank and the Goal Zero Nomad 10 Solar Panel. The power bank easily snaps in and out of the “holder” on the solar panel. Together, they are small, lightweight and don’t take up much room in my knapsack. I can get a full charge on the nearly empty power bank in about 3 hours of full sunlight. The power bank will completely charge my depleted phone in about the same amount of time. That said, I only get one full charge of the phone out of the power bank, with just enough left over to top off my headlamp. (My phone has a 5000mAh battery, if that makes a difference.) I noticed some reviews said that the panel overheated or caused the power bank to overheat and shut off charging. I’ve successfully avoided this ever happening by putting the panel and power bank on a small folding stool, and it seems that having airflow underneath the panel and powerbank is important to prevent overheating. Convenient to use

Simple charger, charges iPhone 7 more than a full charge, and with the built in charger its hard to forget to recharge it. Easy 4 light indicator lets you know how charged up it is. I use it to charge my phone overnight to take the burden off of my Goal Zero Sherpa. Simple and sweet.

Unreliable on PCT long distance hike

I had been advised that charging a Power Bank when hiking is easier to do than charging one's phone directly from a solar panel. I found the opposite to be true. The powerbank was unreliable, sometimes charging sometimes not. Ended up mailing it home from Tuolumne Meadows with note to self to return to REI. I believe my unit was defective because it never moved beyond the one-blue-light level. Maybe in a city where you can plug a power bank into a proper outlet it could work. Not worth it for the backcountry.

Some learning curve

I’ve had this power bank for a couple of weeks now, used it almost daily. It holds a charge well but it took a bit of figuring out. I use a wall outlet to recharge it, and my USB port wasn’t powerful enough so I had to find a stronger one. Also the way it sticks out of the wall is unstable so I prop it up with books and boxes. I’ve used this powerbank for my phone and a small fan. It will run the fan for about 6 hours continuously before dying which is good for my needs. Overall I’m glad I have this and can see it being used a lot.
