Warm, lightweight and fashionable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this coat for my teen. At first, he did not like it because the fabric had a glossy sheen to it. After a month, I note that it is well loved and getting lots of love.

warm, light and stylish

My primary use of this product is to keep warm without a lot of bulk while photographing wild animals during the cold winter months. It is a well-made product and pretty much all I hoped for with one minor caviat. I ordered a 3XL due to my body size, and found it to be too snug. It would not work for me to add layers beneath except for the thinnest of fabrics. Much to my surprise, a NorthFace tag attached to the garment stated that the jacket was "slim fit." Too bad this was not evident on the NorthFace website when I did my search. (Luckily my technical base layers are not too bulky, but we shall see if this works as I do a photoshoot in the snow next week.

Hood not adjustable; warm and packs light

I got this due to the specs saying “partial elastic” hood thinking it would be at least somewhat near my head. Nope. This is designed for a ski helmet and is large and floppy. There is hardly any elastic at all, much less a cinch cord. i should have read closer - BUT it is very lightweight, easy to move around in and packable. Has enough space underneath for a layer - maybe 2 if they’re light. Not a winter jacket but enough warmth for camping and hiking. Will keep!

High quality versatile jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great fall/winter jacket. Not warm enough for really cold days but if you have enough layers it will do. Not windproof but I've worn a Venture 2 over it and the two together act in the same manner as a triclimate jacket. Probably good for spring but haven't had it a full year yet. Great feature that it stows away into its own pocket, especially considering how warm it is. Packed jacket would make a good travel or camping pillow. Would be nice if hood was adjustable but it's not that big of a deal. Biggest con is that it's not waterproof but you could definitely throw a shell over if it's raining.

The hood .. why no cinch to close it?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is great all around; another great TNF product for my daily use .. but a couple of things shot it down to three stars. First, why no cinch or cord on the hoodie? Any slight wind and the hood comes off. This needed maybe a drawstring or Velcro swatch to tighten the hoodie down. That would have been great. Second, I realize this is a slim fit, but I sized up one and still slightly restricted movement in upper chest and shoulder area. Otherwise a great jacket. The fit can be overlooked, after all it is a slim fit, but the hoodie situation was a real letdown. Would still recommend though.

I love my Thermoball hoodie!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my Thermoball hoodie, in fact I'm wearing it right now as I write this post! I love that it packs down so I can throw it in my running vest on an all day mountain adventure as a just-in-case layer. I love it for dog walks in the winter. I love it for whatever and bonus my wife loves it on me!

Performing well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my go to jacket when packing my camping gear. I love how quickly it dries when I'm I've been wearing it in the rain. No holes from carrying firewood or crawling on the ground while wearing it. Keeps me warm enough that I rarely layer it. I'd absolutely buy another one if I ever lost mine.

Bumblebee winter jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Small fits too tight and medium fits to loose. I like the color that's why I bought it. I already bought a matching hoodie and beanie same color. Who wouldn't like Northface..
