SMALL TOE BOX...
I do NOT recommend this shoe if you are looking for a fit similar to Keen hiking boots with the wide to box. I love my Keen hiking boots, but these are cut narrow. Sadly, I had to return them. They seemed like a great shoe, but not cut like any other Keens I have owned.
Solid Yes
Purchased these as my go-to, everyday sneaker but I’m wearing them as an everyday work shoe. I’m on my feet 12+ hours a day, at least 3 days in a row, outdoors on concrete, sometimes in rain. Never had wet feet in these and they’re super comfortable. They took a few wears to break probably due to the waterproof material but are pretty flexible and really do hold up in rain & puddles. If you have a very narrow foot these might be a little wide for you but could easily be made up for with thick socks in cold weather. And yes, they keep my feet warm in 30 degree weather with wool socks. My feet don’t overheat in them either which is a big plus.
Perfect
This show is incredibly light weight yet supportive and cushioned. It does seem to run a bit narrow, which is fine for me as keens are usually too wide for me.
Surprisingly narrow
I have worn Keen kicking boots for years because it has a wider toe box which I find more comfortable. I decided to try a shoe and was surprised by how narrow it was. I do not typically have to order wide width sneakers / walking shoes, at most I size up a half size. With these the shoes were unbearably tight across my toes and that was without tightening the laces. I wouldn’t recommend these shoes unless you are someone with particularly narrow feet. Certainly not for anyone with feet on the wide side or thicker in height. On the plus side returning these appears to be a simple process once you contact customer service.
Best $120 spent!
I received these on Friday for a backpacking trip on Saturday - just an overnight. Even without breaking them in, they were comfortable right away!
Perfect waterproof lightweight hiking shoe
This is the perfect shoe for my foot. I wear a 7.5 medium in regular shoes and go up a .5 size for athletic shoes to give my toes some room. That worked perfect for this shoe! I thought I could never wear Keens because they run so wide. However, this shoe fits my medium width foot and narrow heel very, very well! I still have room in the toe box, but I would not classify this style as a wide toe box. I purchased the all black, but I really like the look of the white sole on all the other colors offered. May get one of those in the vented style. Overall, very pleased with my purchase and think they'll be great for the light hiking we have planned on a trip to Grand Teton and Idaho this fall.
Footbed Size :(
Love this shoe, but like their Keen Bali sandals, they can't seem to get the footbed size right. I've ordered a 9, a 9.5 and a 10 in the sandals, and they all were the same size footbed! They were all too big. So when I ordered these shoes, I also ordered the boots, hoping at least one of them would fit. The boots fit, but alas, the shoes were way off in size :( Keen, I've been buying your shoes for years. I hope you get your act together, because you have a great product - I don't understand how this happens. It just seems like I could order a half size larger or smaller and get a good fit?
Keeps feet dry but...
First: I purchased the men's shoe but I can't find it on the site anymore. Second: Keen shoes have always been awesome and I presume something has changed in their manuf. Here is my feedback: 1) For some reason I cannot go on a walk without having to re-tie the laces about every half mile. I've been tying laces for most of my life so that isn't the issue. There must be something different in this material. 2) The sole on this shoe has worn out in just 5 months. It is mostly flat now. Typically it is the heel that fails first, but this shoe for some reason wore out extremely fast. FYI.
Not at all what I expected
I really wanted to love these but as soon as I opened the box I knew they weren't for me. No ""keen"" look, which for some might be ok i guess. The toe is narrow looking and the sole sticks out way past the heel of the shoe giving the profile of this shoe an odd appearance when on your foot. I'm not sure what the purpose of the weird sole would be. Beyond that they were just not comfortable at all. No arch support to speak of and not much cushion either. It only took me two minutes to decide to print my return label. I am a long time keen fan but these just aren't like keens.
New favorite, and I don't even wear sneakers!
I just got these in the mail yesterday, ordered a W's 10.5. I typically wear men's shoes because I have a wide foot, but I decided to chance it. Ordered the 10.5 because I am a solid M's 8.5, and these fit perfectly. There is room in the toe box to wear a slightly thicker sock, but I also feel that I could get away with a thin hiker sock and not be sliding all around in them. There is no break in period! These feel great on, and mind it's only day 1, I can tell they will be a go-to for me. I would highly recommend these, hey are super comfy, stylish, and not uber feminine, which can sometimes be a downfall of women's color choices. I got them in the red option and they look great with jeans or even a grey slack.
