I got these as a replacement for my leaking Targhee II boots that I loved, but leaked after only a few months. The pros of these boots are that they are nice looking, seem warm and sturdy. However, the fit isn't great at all. I made the mistake of wearing these for the first time with a thick snowboarding sock that provided a lot of padding. The second time I wore them, I used my regular outdoor socks, and discovered that the seam below the tongue digs into my ankle bone. I have a bruise from walking about a mile in these boots, but now I can't return them because they are worn. Not happy. I don' think I would purchase another Keen boot.
Everything is fine, but there is a small remark about the size. I usually wear Keen size - 9.5 US. Revel 3 I first bought 9.5US, they turned out to be small, I had to return them and buy 10US, which fit perfectly. Actual size is slightly smaller than advertised. At the same time, the Ridge Flex model of size 9.5US is very large for me. Revel 3 does not let water through, they are warm, there are no complaints about the quality. Keen managers - for customers (especially outside the US, like me) it is very important that the actual size matches the declared one in all models, returns, exchanges are rather problematic and expensive
Bought a pair of these winter sale of '23 and finally getting around to using them winter '25. There are two seams on the inside right across the ankle that need to be removed, the outside can be painful, the inside felt. Somebody didn't plan that too well. Get your scalpel out and do a little measuring and fixed. Also bought some other boots same size that fit well, this pair felt shorter. Remove the insole, and cut the contoured portion that keeps the heel centered, the boot has this contour and with the insole contoured the same, the foot is pushed forward, making the little piggies bump the toe box every once in a while.
I'm a courier driver and I wear these boots for 10-12 hours every day. I live in Atlantic Canada so, as you can imagine, I wear them in every weather condition you can think of. I have owned a pair of Revel III boots for two and a half years. They're the second pair of Keen boots that I have owned and the second pair that has lasted longer than expected. I'm sure they would last much longer with regular use. I just bought another pair of Revel III boots as I am very happy with their performance. Once you wear them for a week or two it's like putting on a pair of slippers. They are so light and comfortable. I can't say enough good things about them. Buy these boots!
I bought these boots at the beginning of this winter because they are comfortable and look nice - like all keen shoes (in my opinion). They also have half-decent tread grip on slippery sidewalks, but I had problems with the lace hooks at the top of the boot. One hook snapped in half on one boot, and one pulled out of the other boot. I think function is following form in this case because the hooks look nice but aren't durable. Keen would have a winner with this boot if they make a Revel IV that uses simple, solid wrought-metal hooks instead of the fancy cast (aluminum?) ones and anchor them well to the boot. leather.
I bought these boots back in December 2017. I fell in love with them. They were so warm and comfortable. I used them to walk around the city on snowy days for about 2 months (maybe 10 days in total) then put them away for the following winter. Then took them out in January using them maybe 12 times between then and now. The side of the boot is giving out and they are basically garbage despite the fact that I have barely used them and there is almost no noticeable wear on the soles. This is very disappointing considering the price of the boot. I am back to using my merrels that I bought 8 years ago. Despite looking like they are 8 years old at least they are still usable.
This is my husband's second pair of Keens, the first time trying Revel III. He is a metal fabricator who is often crouched, kneeling and crawling around and inside food processing equipment, working from ladders, climbing concrete stairs and in general doing considerable walking on concrete in these facilities during a 10-hour day. He selected these boots first by how pleased he is with the comfort and fit of his first pair of Keens, Targhee II Mid Waterproof, and second for the toe design, and sole material and pattern. After his first day wearing these boots he came home and requested a second pair to have an identical version in the closet. He does not have foot or leg pain after a long day working in Keens, this new model included. Another fabricator he knows working in a food processing plant also only wears Keens, two different models, and the Keens mitigated his leg pain at the end of the day. The only drawback is these don't have a safety toe (plastic composite that meets steel-toe standards) but thankfully he doesn't need safety toes in all plants. We have ordered a second pair and he highly recommends these boots, especially for work boots. He wears a 13 and the 13 fit perfectly.
I love Keen shoes, I own many pairs. I bought these boots 2 years ago and love them. They keep my feet warm and dry being outside most of the day in the snow. These boots are comfortable and fit well even though I have wide feet. Usually I buy a wide boot but didn't need to with this pair. I would've rated higher but the boots are coming apart where the sole meets the leather. I wish these boots were built better so i could've worn them longer. These boots also tear through laces. Just ensure you watch what your leaves look like to ensure your not gong to break one in the middle of the day.
I tried these because I'd be using them in the snow. However, they're so narrow in the front part of the foot that they cut off circulation to my toes. I also have stumbled more in the last 2 weeks when wearing them than in the last year and seem to roll over and turn my ankle at the smallest provocation. Those issues aren't a good thing when hiking on steep mountain terrain. I've sent an email to have them returned and replaced with a different model but I've received no response as of today. I love my other Keens so my expectations are high and this shoe just doesn't make the grade.
These are the best lightweight hunting boots. Super agile plus you can feel everything you step on. You don't feel like you're soles of your feet are getting bruised but you can feel the twigs rocks and help you close the distance needed to have a shot with you're bow. These are game changers
