Pricey but worth it
The Scepter 20-liter water jug is pricey, but you get your money's worth. This jug, made of very stiff & strong, heavy-duty, BPA-free polyethylene, replaces my poorly designed and poorly performing Reliance blue plastic five-gallon water jug. The Scepter jug is well designed, well built, and works very nicely during both filling and pouring. It doesn't leak even when treated roughly and adds no taste to water stored for days. The caps for the big fill hole and smaller pour spout are retained by polyethylene leashes, so you shouldn't lose them; however, the leashes are stiff, so I find that rubber bands come in handy to hold the caps out of the way during filling and pouring. The Scepter jug, made in Canada (not China), has a capacity of 20 liters = 5.28 gallons = 21 quarts. Warning: That much water weighs 44 pounds; together with the 4 lb. 5.2 oz. jug, you have a hefty 48-lb. weight. I anticipate decades of good service from this jug.

cap leaks
The middle size pour cap leaked from the start. I contacted the manufacturer in Canada and asked if it was supposed to have an o-ring like the big cap and the vent. never got an answer to that and they sent a replacement for the vent o-ring which I didn't need. I finally picked up a o-ring at our local hardware (15/16" O.D. x 11/16" I.D.) and that is working well. Seems like a lot of work for a $65 water jug. Also, difficult to pour out of the large opening as the entire cap swings into the way of the stream and is hard to hold out of the way.

Great quality water jug

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow I was impressed with the Quality of this water jug. I did not expect it to be so durable and solid. I like that it’s shaped at an upright position so that it doesn’t take up too much space when storing away or in my truck. The top is also made really well and closes securely to avoid leaks. This is overall a Great product and I highly recommend it.

Love my military 5 Gallon tank of water.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love this water tank, the design is nice and matches my all my military accessories. It a perfect amount of water and storage to have in the car, when we go to the beach thi os going to help ups to have water to wash our kids feet and take all the sand before going in to the car and also to clean the cooler and chairs the sand before going in to our car. It os also, great to storage water in hurricane season. It was a great handle to carry it out, the lid is very big to fill up but also have an additional small one to control the amount of water used. Excellent water tank, if you have an SUV you should have for any trip.

Durable and easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There’s lots of uses for a great water container and one is being able to take with us on camping trips. I also use it on the road with a spout connected to the smaller opening for drinking water when working disaster areas, it works great for that especially when you are in an area that has no working water. Also works best at the beach for rinsing off the sand and salt water for the ride home. The Scepter 5 gallon water container is very durable and light weight to transport, it’s made with food grade plastic, but just remember to wash it out with baking soda and water first to remove the taste of plastic from the inside. Overall this is a must have around the house you can never have enough water on hand. The large opening has a vent cap that will unscrew but will not come out makes it so where it can’t fall off and become lost. The smaller opening can accommodate a spout for draining water easily.

High quality storage jug!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am pleasantly surprised with the quality of this jug. As a prepper, I am used to using quality materials for storage because we aim to store food and water for longer periods of time and this jug definitely exceeds my expectation. It is made of a thick quality food grade material and it is very durable. It is also very handy whenever we go camping. As I have seen online, think there are attachments we can use to convert it for use in a shower and I am excited to try that because that’s another thing that would be really useful. For the quality and value I get with this storage jug, I’d say every dollar is worth it! Highly recommended!

Great To Have On Hand!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This water container is a great thing to have on hand. It comes in handy in the the event of an emergency situation. It also comes in handy for camping. It’s made from thick quality food grade material that is BPA free! It’s a very durable water container that should last for a long time. It has a nice large opening that makes it easy to fill up. Then there is also a smaller opening that you can use to pour from. It has a nice handle that makes it easy to carry.

Been using it for months

People who complain about it leaking need to take a science class. Very easy to use, no odd taste, easy to clean. Yes, it will leak if you don’t equalize or leave a nozzle open, but the second you start pouring the leaking stops. The spout is almost mandatory and the pricing seems to reflect the brands knowledge of this fact BUT the tools have held up to full time use for the past 6 months.

So much leaking

It had the strong plastic smell that people have mentioned. I didn't even get to try to remove it because this thing leaked like crazy. It went right back.

Excellent and Durable Container

I use this for all my camping water purposes and it serves as extra emergency water while we're at home. Its extremely durable so I don't need to worry about any small leaks etc from the typical wear and tear while camping. My only complaint is it doesn't have best system for filling smaller containers. I typically place the container on a bench or table and slowly tilt it to pour. Using this method the twist cap always dangles in the way. It would be nice if it could remain on its side and use the spigot adapter to pour slowly but I don't think the vent port is positioned well for this.

Best high volume water canister there is

Super super solid and highly recommended. I know the Canadian military uses this company. If it meets military spec...it's dang fine for camping. I bought this before REI was selling them and went crazy looking for one with OK shipping rates that wasn't fake. There are a bunch of counterfeits of these believe it or not and they pop up on amazon. Very happy that REI is selling this fantastic product. It took me a few rinses to get the plastic taste out but I can say that the water that comes out of it is now as good as the water that goes in. Do yourself a favor and pickup the water spout as well. Again, not cheap - but the fit and finish is so so so nice: https://www.rei.com/product/153461/scepter-water-container-spout
