Best saddle I've had!
My old saddle was starting to fray and break at the seams. Walked in to REI and was recommended this Bontrager commuter saddle based on my daily riding needs. No seams makes it weatherproof and generally seems like it will last longer than my last saddle given the weather conditions I sometimes have to ride in. It's sleek and light like a race saddle with just enough comfort to make commuting to work and school a more enjoyable ride than ever. Highly recommend!
Most versatile seat ever
I’ve bought this seat twice. One for myself and one for my 11 year old daughter. For myself the seat has been great for XC MTB rides anywhere from 10-20 miles daily. Seat is light, perfect width and it hasn’t given me any issues over last several months of use. I’m 5’9, 225lbs. My daughter has the exact same seat, she’s 4’6, 62lbs but wanted a wider seat than the narrow bontrager Arvada her bike came with. She rides a few times a week 2-4 miles with me and has told me it’s the most comfortable seat she’s had out of the three bike seats she’s had in the last few years.
Big improvement
I bought this for my Diamond Back Over Mountain bike to replace one that was just plain uncomfortable. I used to work in a bike store, back in the days of leather brooks saddles being the go to one. We had a saying that either the rider or the seat would break in at 100 miles. I honestly do not think it will take that long for this seat. I road for a little over an hour last Sunday morning and it felt pretty good for most of the trip. I would say the more I ride the more we will get along just fine. Its comfortable from the get go and not too heavy. Looks good on my bike as well. I would recommend it and will buy another one for an old but good mountain bike I'm converting to a fixie when the time comes.
new school seat keeps jewels cool
This brilliant new school seat design features a front to back trough that very effectively reduces the dead junk syndrome I got with all three of my old school solid seats. There is even an 'air port' in the trough...wow.. imagine that. This seat rates the five stars for design, comfort and build quality. This is one clean seat design top to bottom. Flat and well padded, my butt likes it. Most comfortable of the four seats I have rode. Thanks Bontrager and TREK. Riding my 1989 TREK 8500 never felt so good.
Comfotable seat
Very comfy seat for my casual riding style on both tarmac and gravel.
Finally!
I have over a dozen seats. All super uncomfortable, even though some of them $150 plus. I tried this on a whim based on REI guy's recommendation. I almost didn't buy it at first because how good can a $45 seat be? But my gosh, I am blown away. For the first time in two decades of riding, essentially ZERO discomfort! I can't believe it. I don't leave many reviews, but this one is worth it to get the word out more. (I use it on a gravel bike.)
Not comfy enough for me
I bought this to replace a WTB speed (steel) saddle that is a certified torture device. Despite what other reviewers said, this wasn't comfortable for my 13.5 mi. commute without padded shorts. For context, I am 5'8" ~155lbs with narrowish sit bones riding a rad mini. I was a bike mechanic for years so am very comfortable with fitting a bike, and saddle adjustments. Despite all that it was a very uncomfortable ride to and from work on this. It will be going back. Last note - I ride 27 miles/day 3-4 days a week so this isn't a "you just need to ride more" situation.
Great seat at reasonable price
Very comfortable, good for long distance, it's on my road bike
Massive improvement over stock saddle
I first replaced the stock seat on my CO-OP CTY 3.1 bike with the Terry Liberator Y Gel saddle, which looked really well padded and high quality. It was so firm! Within 3 minutes all I could think was "ok so that's what my hip bones feel like when they're digging their way out of my backside". Every pedal rotation made it worse and I felt like my entire weight was being carried on those two spots. The REI bike team recommended this Bontrager saddle, and even though it's thinner I gave it a try. Magic! My weight is evenly distributed because it's flatter, and it feels better cushioned without being bulky. It's transformed the bike and I now thoroughly enjoy riding it, vs. enduring it with the Terry. As a bonus it's considerably cheaper as well. Really can't recommend this seat enough!
Riding a bike has never felt so good!
Prior to getting this seat use the stock seat on my specialized tarmac. I couldn't go a ride without saddle soreness. It was so bad, I couldn't ride back to back days because it hurt that bad. This fall I switched to the Bontrager Commuter seat and I have never felt so comfortable during or after a ride. Highly recommend looking into this saddle if you are still riding a stock one.
