A functional little pack that makes a statement!

I'm so happy that I discovered this waistpack! It's solidly constructed with three separate compartments to stash a ton of goodies. It has a small front compartment, a large main compartment (with a couple of internal organization pockets and a keyclip), and a hidden back compartment. The material is a ripstop fabric, and the strap/buckle/zippers are all solid and sturdy. It was a perfect find just in time for Pride month, and I'm grateful that REI added it to their lineup! One thing to be aware of is that the fabric on the bag is a dark blue (not black).

love design but fabric tore

I purchased this in November and didn't have cause to use it until "Safe at Home" COVID 19. For 55 days(!) it was a useful, comfortable companion on sanity & health walks & bike rides. Held essentials. Laid flat on my small frame. Loved organization including "hidden" pocket sized for passport (was already planning on taking it on future travels). I could wear around waist or as a sling. Happy! However, this week I took a fall on my bike and was surprised & saddened to find the fabric was torn in 2 places. I would expect a trail pack to be sturdier. Makes me concerned about using it in canyons, hikes, etc. I was also disappointed to discover it is not covered by a replacement warranty. Fantastic design but concerns about quality & longevity of materials.

Fits a lot and goes with everything

This fanny pack checks all the boxes. I wear it daily to carry my earbuds (both wired and wireless), phone (Pixel 4a), lip balm, pen, wallet, and spare change. The interior pockets keep things organized. It fits my Kindle Paperwhite (barely, but it does!). It's not too big to wear around my waist (I'm 5'7" and 180 lbs). I use the pocket closest to my body for my passport when I travel and for things I don't need easy access to, like emergency tissues and my swiss army knife. The pack could be improved in two ways. I found it uncomfortable to wear cross-body because the strap dug into my shoulder, so a wider strap might be more comfortable. And the material could be a little more durable; I've noticed some almost-holes popping through the front. I took these pictures after 5 months of daily wear, and I'm happy with how the pack has held up. I'll buy it in another color when it goes on sale, just to have when this one dies.

Would buy again in a heartbeat

Have had for four years and it still looks brand new. It's been worn more days than it hasn't. Work, travel, hiking, grocery shopping, etc. Everything is still functional and it's still flattering whether it's full or nearly empty. I only wear as a crossbody bag and it does not irritate my neck.

Literally PERFECT!

I’ve been looking for a nice, slim black fanny pack that could hold up to some mild rain for awhile now. Most of the stuff I’ve seen has a fairly raised profile and stands off your back/waist too much (for my liking). This lil bag is honestly the best I’ve ever had, and that says a lot. The pocket layout is perfect, with a secure sleeve at the back and a couple smaller wallet ones in the main compartment. Just enough room to keep your essentials, without being tempted to treat it like a mini-backpack. The Trayvax leash I have works great with the key clip/wallet pocket to keep my stuff secure.

Perfect for my bike rides!

Love it! The pattern is cute and I was in need of a pouch for my bike rides. It has three pouches/zippers- which I wasn't aware of when I bought it! Enough room for keys/phone/snack.

Perfect, now I’ve modified it…

I wanted a low profile sling bag that was just a little bigger than my Fjällräven pocket bag, to wear cross-body. This fit the bill perfectly, except the strap sat at a weird angle when I was wearing it across my chest. As it was only 30 bucks I decided to make a modification - I bought a couple swivel clasps and installed them at either end of the bag (meant cutting the strap), and now it’s perfect! I only did this because I couldn’t find a bag that has everything I wanted, and apart from the strap this was ideal. Love it now!

Awesome for fieldwork and daily use

I’m a fisheries biologist who spends a decent amount of time in the field. This thing is great for holding all of the little things I need quick at hand (knife, multitool, pen, wallet, phone, flashlight, etc). Feels rugged and has become a daily driver for me. The only thing I wish they would change is some structure or breathable back and a thicker strap to disperse weight better. As a side note, because of the shape and t doesn’t look or ride like it’s two liters (doesn’t stick out super far like others I’ve had) which is really nice.

Perfect for a casual walk/bike ride

I ordered frosted meadow color and it is greenish grey. I didn't want my waistpack to stand out so the color is perfect. I can hold my iPhone 7, hand sanitizer, small wallet, facial mask, sanitizing wipe, and maybe a small bag of snack. This pack is a great in between my sling bag and pocket.

This fanny pack is truly the best bag I have ever owned. They thought of a bunch of details that make it work flawless. #1The zippers have extra guards of material that make for perfect operation , they don't snag. You don't have to hold with 2 hands to open or close. Holds an X-lg wallet and then some in the main compartment.#2 Has cord on the zippers making it easy to open and close with glove's on. Has these securing loops on the main strap to hold any extra strap in place. The stitching is really well done. Its lined in light, light gray making it easy to see inside. Holds phone with room to spare. Has key clip. Yes I understand that Its a little on the spendy side but you will be happy in the long run..

Perfect waistpack!

I just bought this and I absolutely love it. I love that it has 3 zippered compartments and that there is an added clip inside to keep your keys, along with the 2 little pockets inside the main compartment that you could tuck stuff into. I really wanted something that wasn’t just one single pocket where all my stuff would be thrown into and I appreciate that there are options to segregate and organize things. It’s not very big but big enough to fit your phone, wallet, keys (Adam Sandler) and sunglasses too - that’s really all I was looking for. I mostly really like how low-profile it is. Very inconspicuous. Nice job REI!
