I loved the idea of not having to tie these shoes each time, however, because I have a high arch and these don't have a tongue, more of a collar for the stretch slip on part, it was very difficult to put them on and take off, so much strength that I returned them for the same shoe style but with the laces - so much better, but this new shoe seems a bit larger and doesn't fit quite as nicely - too much space in the toes.

These shoes are not for those with high arches as they are a challenge to put on. I had to return them because I couldn't get them on my feet.

Great Arch support and wide toe box

In the past I was unimpressed with Merrill. But I took a chance on these since I need a wide toe box to accomodate the shape of my feet. I am so happy I did that. I purchased them for dry hiking in warm conditions this summer. We haven't had those conditions yet but I find myself grabbing them to wear all over town and for short hikes. The arch support is perfect for me which is important since I have plantar fasciititis. The toe box accomodates my wide foot and I haven't experienced a pinch yet. They are not supper easy to put on even with my flat feet but once on are so comfortable that I quickly forget the struggle. I purchased a 9 wide and they are true to size. I wish I could find another pair in 9 wides. I have a feeling these will be my go-to shoes for as long as they hold up.

So glad this shoe was brought back. I wore the chameleon arc shoe for work and it really supported my heel and this one does too. I love this shoe and Merrell shoes are a good fit for me.

Gave me a blister on my second day of hiking

There were two problems when I went on an REI lead trip. On the second day I got blisters like I’ve never had before on the inside of the heel, not on the back as you might expect. Also, the toe flap started to become unglued by the third day. I am going to return these.

I need shoes with a wider toe box, and these fit the bill. I’ve worn them on a couple of hikes already, and they are comfortable and provide good support. I also like that they’re not bulky like some hiking shoes can be. I also like the lace system.
