This sleeping bag was given to my husband and I as a wedding gift. We have already used it several times, and love it. It is extremely light-weight and fits into the stuff sack of my mummy bag. I do recommend a slip cover to accompany it, as it keeps the pads together. I made one, but if you aren't sewing inclined, the matching slip cover looks nice. It's very warm for how light it is, and since it's essentially a comforter, it's very easy to adjust how much you are covered and regulate temperature. It stays in place very well, and is a lot more comfortable than a mummy bag.
Spent 2 nights in low 40 degree night weather. I did not purchase insulated pads to go along with the bag and that was a serious error. Our backs were super cold all night. We had a polar fleece throw that we put down under us and that helped a little but not enough. Also the gap in between the 2 of us allow a lot of cold air to come in. Because the collar cannot be cinched, there is a lot of open space and anytime one of us rolled, it was cold. So if you buy this 1. make sure you buy insulated pads and/or bring an under blanket. 2. Nemo needs to do something about the collar as it is just bad. Either add a strip of blanket between the 2 sleepers or add something else to the collar to keep drafts out. Way not worth the cost
I have had this for about two years now. I use it quite often, for sleeping on the porch in 50+ deg weather to using it as my conferter on my bed during cold winter nights. It is very confortable, great to have on the trail or car campong. Allows more freedom than any conventional or mummy bag out there. Note: I have not used this below 45deg but plan to give it a shot this winter. I'll post an update when I do. I am sure the single is just as great and for just over 2lb/s this has been awesome! Plan on bringing it on another trip in August.
I bought this as a light weight backpacking option for my girlfriend and I. It's a great set up that sheds a lot of weight and space on the trail. I recommend buying a smaller stuff sack to save space. I didn't purchase a slipcover but use a twin cover and it worked fine. Also, I use a mattress coupler (thermarest brand) to keep the mattresses together. We've used this bag in the Canadian Rockies about 10 times and it gets a little cool in the lower temperature ranges 1-5C and as recommended I wouldn't go any colder than that. Small compartments within the structure of the bag keeps the down exactly where it should stay. Hey Nemo! You guys should do a slightly warmer version (but still ultra light) for us backpackers who camp in cooler climates. I'd be happy to test it for you!
I have the Tango Solo. I recommend it with some caveats that should be considered. THE GOOD: reasonable price, especially compared to cottage quilt makers with some nice features. I used the loops along the edges to rig a bungee to hold it to the pad. Very soft, comfortable fabrics. Excellent, cofortable summer bag which gets very light and compact without the hood on it. BE AWARE: It is not wide enough to really wrap the edges of a pad to seal it off, especially if you are a side sleeper like me. It can't wrap your body like a real quilt either. It allows drafts when turning over. The bungee I added to keep it on the pad helped. The temp rating is definitely pushing it. I have worn insulating layers in it in the 35-40 degree range in damp conditions in a single-wall Tarptent. YMMV depending on your shelter. The wide, floppy hood is a little odd so I rarely use it, but my wife likes it when she uses it for car camping.
This is my summer bag and I absolutely love it. I love how my mat and sleeping bag can mash together. I am a tosser Turner sleeper so this is the perfect combination for me.
