Hybrid of a mummy bag and hammock quilt

I think this sleeping bag is a really great idea. It's a down quilt top combined with a mummy bottom. I hate zippers and my legs feel constricted in a mummy, so this is the perfect solution for me in mild weather. My only complaint is that the toggle buttons can get tangled up with their elastic loops when trying to exit the bag. I'm thinking of replacing them with bits of Velcro.

Bad for the price

It packs up well, but the little knobs that are used to keep the bag shut might as well not even be there. I imagine it would be fine if you lay completely still on your back all night, but if you roll around or like to sleep on your side huge holes open up on the bag and let any heat that was in the bag out. Comfort wise its fine, but seriously get a bag with a zipper!

Happy camper

All other reviews say what is true, not enough connecting points, connection points not placed well and toggles are a pain to undo especially with one hand. I did put Velcro on my bag. First connection point is to low and makes it hard to get your feet out. So I moved that up 4" inches and then spaced evenly three more connection points with peel and stick Velcro. which REALLY sticks well to bag (no sewing) This bag is AWESOME now. With four connecting points it space closer together it keeps bag well closed. Made Velcro a little t type connection so it's very easy to hit and gives width adjustment so bag can now be barely closed or closed up tighter and more surface area of Velcro stuck to bag just as added insurance it doesn't peel off. I'd give it five stars now.

Absolutely worthless

I bought this thinking it would be functional for spring & summer. The clasps are nearly impossible to operate one handed, and I have nerve damage in one hand making them very cumbersome. They repeatedly came open during the night. Worse, the gaps between the clasps are huge. This is basically a thin blanket with awkward clasp points. Where I camped got down probably in the 40s F overnight. I wore several layers including my jacket and still found myself shivering. If hot weather it would be okay, but not any better than just bringing a blanket.

Inefficiency in closures and insulation rating

Over-rated temperature rating - my 55F bag is warmer than this rated at 40F. Closures are ineffective to keep closed while sleeping - therefore lower insulating ability if I move the slightest - Closures also come free easily. Compression stuff sack is the only well designed part of this bag - I may use it for other purposes if the bags (I purchased 2 bags) cannot be returned to my REI Coop.
