i haven't used it on a camping trip yet, but have tried it out at home. it fluffs up really nice. it quickly warmed up and kept me warm on a cold winter night. it was easy to pack back into the carrier bag it came in. i'm planning to go on some camping trips in the next few months but ultimately bought it for my trip to machu picchu.
