Slips out easily

So I bought this because I thought it’d help me from grabbing a towel to wrap around the handles of my lodge pans. When you cook with them, the handles get hot and you can’t use your bare hand. Two things to note here: 1) if you leave the plastic handle on the pan while cooking it will get just as hot as the iron and burn your hand. 2) it works okay with some of the small lodge pans, but with the larger lodge pans (like the one I use to cook most of my meats) when you put the plastic thing on the handle it will slip right out as soon as you try to lifting the pan up. It’s near impossible to lift the pan up cause the plastic thing just does not stick to the handle. I’ve essentially had to go back to wrapping the lodge pan handles with a towel again, and will probably throw this piece of junk in the trash.

Excellent heat resistant handle holder

This Lodge deluxe version is much thicker than the standard version and it is thicker than any similar silicone handle holder. It fits any Lodge cast iron skillet from 9" and larger. Because of the extra thickness and shape it fits very well in the handle and does not twist around. The deluxe version can withstand heat up to 550 degree while the standard version only good to about 400. Despite the high temperature claim I would not want to put it in the oven because everything will rise in temperature including the silicone handle holder. Just a reminder, for any skillet or pan 10" or larger always use a heat resistant helper handle holder to help carry the skillet or pan from stove to table, or from oven to table. Also a trivet will be helpful so the hot skillet won't burn a mask on your table. Good cooking.

A Cast Iron MUST

I use my cast iron skillets for both home and camping. This handle holder is absolutely perfect.

cool

It's a nice product, but is made to fit securely on Lodge product handles. I tried using it on a different brand cat iron skillet and it doesn't fit right. (it's too loose). If you decide to buy this product to use with a different brand item, just be careful when handling the hot skillet.

Not for the 10" Skillet

The handle itself is fine, but too long for the 10" skillet. I found a similar Lodge handle at my local store that fits the skillet handle perfectly.
