Bought this pack in the REI blue version lugged it all over Nashville & on several hiking trips; & through some airports... not a scratch. Bag held up really well despite being caught in some thunderstorms. I wasn’t sure it’d fit all I needed it too so I bought it knowing I could just return it if not & I had no trouble. It’s a keeper. Fit 2 change of clothes, a dirty launder bag; headphones, phone charger, cell, wallet, iPad, small toiletry kit, notebook, pen, flashlight... & a large hydroflask bottle, comfortably. As an added bonus I received several compliments on the design.

I tried this pack in the store and the back is too high! I tried tightening the straps and add weight as recommended in another post, but it still hit the back of my neck. Im truly disappointed because this is a Beautiful bag with great pockets.

Awesome bag. Defective side pocket elastic.

Bag is extremely well made / organized. However, the side pocket elastic wore out after only 1 trip and now anything placed in it falls out e.g. they can no longer hold a water bottle without it falling out when i bend to pickup something. SOOOO annoying. Too bad since the rest is great.

The Perfect Daypack!

I bought this for a recent trip to Yosemite and it met all my expectations for a daypack. I was able to fit ponchos, lunch, snacks, water bottles, and other little necessities for 2 people, and it still had loads of room. It held up well and I especially like the design of the teal one. I will definitely be purchasing a hydration reservoir for it in the future. Would recommend!

Smaller than described -for average sized or less

This pack appears to be a good quality pack over-all. The reasons for only 3 stars is the size doesn’t live up to expectations. I researched for best daypack/hiking bag for Large men, and this pack continually popped up and was supported by the information in the REI sites Q&A and reviews. I’m 6’-0”, 230 lbs, with a 38” waist and 22-23” torso. The belt is maxed out to get around my waist. The chest strap at it’s lowest setting barely gets low enough not to choke me and is maxed out. The shoulder straps are maxed out. The biggest negative is that even when weighted down, it doesn’t get down to my hips with the belt, so all weight is on my shoulders. I’m a large man, but not that large. I’d say this pack is only good for average sized people with torso length under 19”

Hurt my neck, backpack too long

This is not a good pack for people that are under 5'5". The pack hits your neck and there's no way to adjust it.

Good Casual pack for short day hikes

I started taking my 3 year old and 10 year old hiking, The 3 year old has short little legs so we don't do more than 2 or 3 miles but I needed something better than a basic school backpack. I needed to be able to fit in a hydrapak (they get really thirsty), lunch/snacks and first aid/survival kit. Tried some on in store and this was the most comfortable on that fit my needs.

There is no slot for Hydration Bladder straw

I ordered this for an upcoming backpack day trip. I have always used water bottles and not a bladder. This says it has space for a bladder, it does, but no slot for the tube to drink from it. The outside pocket is super small too and the 2 side pockets for things are not at all snug. I am returning the product.

Makes life simpler

I love using this backpack for school, track, and everyday life activities. The smaller compartments make me think about the items I truly need but it also fits way more than it looks. I get a compliment on this backpack every time I wear it.
