Comfortable...but they fell apart.
After just wearing once around the house and a short neighbourhood walk (< 1.5 miles) I noticed that the sole was already coming apart in multiple places on both sandals. [hence the 1 star rating] It appears that the insole is made of two parts that are glued together; this is what came apart. Sadly had to return. Apart from this apparent quality issue (cannot say if it is common to all Hurricanes or just the ones I got), I loved them for the short time I had them! They looked great, and fit very well once all straps were adjusted properly (easy to do with the three velcro straps). I was a big fan of the heel padding as that is an area that I usually have issues in sandals. Would have given a 4-5 star rating if not for the issue with the sole.
Poor Quality
Lasted about 5 months. As you can see from the photos, the soles ripped off. They are comfortable; however, not durable. Made in china. Poor quality control and glue. I live in Vietnam temporarily and will have a hard time returning these Teva in time prior to the expiration date . Sad. Rei should contact Teva on this product failure.
Awesome while they lasted
Man do I love these guys. Never hiked in them, but wore the snot out of them around the yard, in town, and around the campsite. The soles fell off at 14 months, and they were on my feet at least part of the day for 11 of those. I suppose I got my monies worth, but I wish they made it to the two year mark.
After one year they’re deteriorating.
I purchased these Tevas just over a year ago and they are already deteriorating on me. There are hole in the bottoms of the soles, cracking in the top and the velcro is loosing its stick. Im really disappointed as I had my last pair of hiking Tevas for almost 10 years. I contacted Teva and they informed me that because Im past the one year warranty window there is nothing they can do. I guess they don’t make them like the used to. Maybe time to try Chacos.
Sandal foot bed stains my feet
Not sure what they are using for the foot bed of the sandals but it stains my feet black. It doesn't come off easily either. I have worn Tevas for as long as they have been on the market. These smell like butyl straight out of the box.
Soles split after light use.
The soles split right after the warranty period, very light use. Would not recommend, previous Teva's I've had we're great, disappointed in these.
After 2 years shoe completely falls apart
Bottom part of shoe has completely come off
Tried all kinds of mens sandal’s, love the Teva’s
These were delivered last weekend & I’ve been wearing them around the house to see how they feel while walking around, comfort, rubbing, cushion, etc… Living in S.E. Texas during the summer there are days you can’t stand having shoes on because it’s just too hot. I’ve tried Keen slides, Keen flip flops, Reef flip flops and several others. I can honestly say these are much more comfortable, not having that annoying strap between your toes, they won’t fall off, they have a sturdy comfortable footbed & sole. I am completely satisfied with this purchase and can say I am a Teva convert.
Buy again, old sole went west
This is my fourth pair of Teva sandals in this basic style. It is the new XLT2, which they say offers improved traction and a softer heal strap. Neither of those have been an issue with previous pairs. These were comfortable and had sufficient traction right from the minute I put them on. At the Berkeley store, I was in and out with the new pair within 15 minutes, no indecision at all. As to my previous pairs, one of them, already well worn, delaminated its sole on a very wet hike walking in water up a stream bed near Sedona. The pair I am replacing after 2 years still has a good sole, but tithe velcro no longer holds. Stuff happens.
Fair for my foot
I was trying to find replacements for my Columbia sandals that had separate / independent straps. However the vast majority of sandals that were available also have adjustable heel straps and a lengthwise strap between the ankle and the instep. Currently the straps are uncomfortable and need the be broken in. The sandal has decent cushioning and a more flat foot bed (i have a high arch). I wear a size 12 running shoe, but size 12 in the sandals feels just a little too big. If I purchased in the store I would have tried an 11.5 but I purchased them off the internet.
