Would be a great dress, but . . .
This dress is super lightweight and comfortable with a bit of stretch. The fit is perfect. Great for hot weather. The only downside is that it wrinkles A LOT. I normally take my clothes out of the dryer after a few minutes and hang them to avoid wrinkles. It does not work with this dress. Ironing is required. It would be the perfect travel dress since it's so lightweight and takes up up literally no space in a suitcase, but after packing it is full of wrinkles which do not come out without substantial ironing. That is not how I want to spend a vacation!
Cute dress!
I like the dress but am returning for a different color. I bought Dreamscape thinking it looked light blue. However, it is more of a periwinkle leaning towards lavender. It’s very thin, so should be nice for hot weather travel. Pockets are nice. Wish it came in navy.
Easily mistaken
I ordered this by mistake, intending to buy the Contenta dress (which I already have one of in a different colour). They are extremely similar, but the shift dress is tighter round the neck and armholes and hangs slightly better, doesn't have the dropped-waist-clinching option, and is a good couple of inches shorter. If it wasn't for the shorter length I would have kept this one, as it fitted me slightly better, but having realised my mistake, I've ordered the Contenta dress (not shift) instead. As these dresses are so similar and have almost the same name, and as the styles change slightly from year to year, it might be worth pointing out that there are two versions.
Striking
This is a lightweight and comfortable dress; It feels look like wearing nothing- perfect for summer. It didn’t look like much on the rack, but as soon as I tried it on, I was sold. It lightly skims the body, feels loose and breathable, but is very figure flattering. And pockets to boot!
Love this dress!
I bought this dress last year in Dimma. In fact, I bought two thinking they might not be available again. The fit is flattering and comfortable, it washes beautifully and the fabric is soft yet doesn’t cling. I’m a pear shape and usually a style like this doesn’t work for me. The pockets are discrete and don’t add bulk as well as being deep enough to be useful! I get several compliments from friends and strangers. I would love to see this in more colours. A navy or dark blue would be in my closet in a heartbeat! I was hoping that this year I would have more colour options. Maybe next year?
Very versatile dress for hot weather
I've worn this dress on so many different occasions! I've been wearing it to do chores around the house on a hot day, for day hikes, to run errands, and on work calls with a sweater. It's so light and breezy and doesn't collect sweat so it's perfect for hot weather days and activities. I also appreciate that you can bend over and move around without worrying about the dress shifting uncomfortably. I'm 5'7'' with 35'' hips and 34'' bust wearing a medium and it fits me with enough looseness around the hips to be a flattering shift dress. The length rests at lower/mid-thigh.
Perfect for anything!!!
This dress is the PERFECT fit for my curvy hourglass shape, even when my shape isn’t “perfect” :) The high neckline is classy and appropriate for almost any setting. Another huge plus is that I can bend and squat without having to worry. The fabric weight is phenomenally breathable and it works well in warm to extremely hot/humid weather. It even feels good on sunburned skin and 12 hour car rides! The pockets and extra secret zip pocket make it a home run!
A new staple!
This dress works nearly any way you want to wear it. I got it in winter and have paired it with tights and a cardigan where it works great running errands or hiking it out on the trails with my pup. I got the Esoteric color, which makes it easy to pair with other pieces. I’m looking forward to summer and to travel where I think this dress will shine even more. The only downside is I did notice an issue with water spots — I splashed water on the dress and the spots were very dark but did eventually go away. Not a huge deal and doesn’t change my love for the dress.
Perfect Dress
Bought this dress after thinking about the drape in the larger size. I bought a large as the length fell closer to the knee and it just looks better. Wore it out to dinner and next day on a plane. My travel morning was on the cool side so I added a short sleeved white tee and Capri tights for a perfect combo. Arrived to over 30C temps and just stripped it down to the lightest and most airy dress with lots of style. Washed up just as easy after walking through a dusty field to my front door. More lifestyle clothes please :)
LOVE this versatile dress
I absolutely LOVE this dress. I've worn it multiple times since purchasing both the Black and Ginger Root dresses. Works with a jacket for court, a sweater in the office and leggings on the weekend. I'm planning a trip to California this week and I intend to bring both dresses and know that they'll be perfect for walking, sightseeing, dress up, and whatever the week brings my way. The material is lightweight with lots of luxurious stretch. Washed and hung dry. Dries quickly with no ironing required.
