Simple installation button should be sold with system

I found the bite valve cover easy to install although I was a bit apprehensive about removing the valve from the tube initially. I had kind of twist it back on to the tubing, but it works great and is now protected from dirt and debris. I am very happy with my Platypus 3L hydration system!

Does the Job

What can I say. It works but it should have been included on with the hydration reservoir in the first place.

Simple solution to my small but annoying problem

Prior to purchasing this, I was constantly wiping my bite valve off or dealing with a surprise gritty mouth due to the bite valve being exposed. I'm ashamed to admit I had been backpacking for years with my platypus bladder and did not even think to look for a cover. With dogs and the ever-changing PNW weather, I'm often setting my pack down to readjust clothing for one or all of us, and this typically resulted in dirt sticking to the silicone mouth piece. This cover has been a great, simple and lightweight solution to my small but annoying problem. I wish they came with these by default.

Yes, should have come with it, but easy to install

Not sure why all the bad reviews besides the fact that it's annoying this doesn't come as part of the bladder in the first place. Either way, the installation was incredibly easy and didn't damage anything. You just slip off the rubber bite valve on the platy bladder and then push it back on after you slide the cover on. Did it in less than 60 seconds.

Protects you from gerns

Bought this to protect the mouthpiece to my water bladder from hitting the ground when I take my pack off. The trail dirt must be filled with germs and fecal matter.

Works, after broken in

Works well, but the rubber toggle is stiff so sometimes it pops off. Using it after a while the rubber softens and this happens less. A bit of a pain to install too

Works fine

Makes it a little tougher to drink water, but no biggie. I had to watch a youtube video to figure out how to install it.

Functions as expected

Although I feel this should be included with the purchase of the water reservoir, it works as expected. I just twisted the mouthpiece off the end of reservoir tube, slipped cap on and then replaced mouthpiece back onto tube. Keeps mouthpiece clean and protects from debris and combined with the magnet clip - staying hydrated is quick, easy and convenient.

Bought it to cover an bite valve on 3 L Hoser.

Easy to install . Might be a little hard to open to get water. Just need to work with it more. A little bigger than I thought. Doesn't seem to open easy. that maybe good.? So nothing on trail can cause it to open.

Bad design and poor instructions!

This cover and the online instructions are a joke. I just purchased the 1.5 litre Big Zip and the bite valve cover together. I have fought with trying to install the cover as per the online instructions to almost no avail. I have the on/off version of the hose. You cannot get the cover to close once installed. I greased the bite valve and the bottom half of the cover but I still could not get the valve snug enough to close the lid. I ended up having to cut about 2mm of the bite valve fitting off in hopes that I can get it snug enough for the lid to stay closed. So far so good but a lot of effort involved and I'm not sure I can trust the system. I should not have had to modify the bite valve. It should just fit. I also agree with the reviewer wo said that the cover should be included and instructions as well.
