Built for hiking all elements.

I wanted to be sure I actually reviewed this before posting something. Mine is actually the kid comfort 3 (older model of the pro but a little better imo!) and I have owned it for 1.5 years. Started with a small Kelty when my child was 6 months and knew this was the direction we were going to suit our lifestyle of camping, fishing, hiking, hunting and traveling. So I went to REI and tried 3 brands. Kelty, Osprey, and Dueter. Hands down Dueter had more features and comfort (especially for the child) and me. Storage is great and balances nicely on my back. The seat, stirrups, pillow and sun shade are amazing for the kid. If he falls asleep I never have to worry about circulation or breathing and they even include a little mirror in the pocket to check on your little one. We have been around the country in this thing from local festivals and farmers markets to Glacier National Park and beyond. It works amazing everywhere. I got the deluxe rain and snow cover and it works awesome. I use it during snowfalls here in Wisconsin hiking the backcountry and frozen caves in Bayfield. I even fill a heat bladder up with boiling water and slide it in the pouch where the water bladder goes. Kid has heat in their for hours and is completely out of the elements. My child is 3 now and weighs 35 pounds and still fits and rides with zero problems. He loves it! This pack is durable, well thought out, and probably the best thing I bought for the both of us. Adventures continue with my whole family by my side and on my back.

I've only used this twice and the kickstand metal pipe already broke with standard use. Complete junk quality for the price.

Doesn't get any better than this!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Deuter Kid Comfort Pro child carrier is such a great investment! I took this on my kids' spring break trip to the east coast and took it on the hiking trails we went on for my younger three year old child. He weighs 35 pounds. We walked several miles using this to carry him as he got tired easily, as most toddlers do. He was very comfortable the entire time and we didn't have any issues at all. I was comfortable wearing it and toting him around in it as well. The shoulder straps were comfortable and the pack is nicely padded and ventilated so it doesn't get too hot. Using this helps even out carrying the weight of the child evenly for more comfort. I love how the weight limit on this is fairly high, 48 pounds 8 ounces! The size of the carrier is pretty large and only weighs a little more than eight pounds. There is plenty of storage places throughout the carrier and even comes with a day pack backpack that you can hook to the front of you/shoulder straps. There are little foot straps for your little one to rest their feet on, a pillow in case they fall asleep, a little mirror to use to check on your child, and the best part is a sun shade that blocks UV rays and fits snug back into its little zipper compartment. The quality of the fabrics, zippers, etc are very good. The frame is made of aluminum. Just about everything is adjustable for yours and your childs comfort! They have truly thought this thing through and have included everything you need and then some!

Great pack!

This is a great pack! My wife and I take turns carrying the kids in it. I’m 6’ and my wife is 5’2”; adjusting is quick and we both find it comfortable. We have a 2 YO and an 11 MO and the both love riding in it (the two YO gets jealous when she isn’t in it)

Def a Winner

Easy to load and unload, secure, built in sun roof worth extra money. Our son loves it and this pack transfers all his weight to my hips. Used it on a 6 mile hike with dog and was great. Used the easy kickstand to take a break and feed him during the hike.

Light, comfortable & perfect for the whole fam!

We've always erred on the side of lightweight and good air ventilation so we've been BIG fans of the Kid Comfort Air but the Kid Comfort Pro has us switching gears. It's lightweight, has the ventilated back, has the built-in sun cover, cushioned chin pad for your little one and padded sides if they slump over, and tons of storage. A highlight that I didn't initially take much notice of is the removal pack. If you have older kids who like to carry their own packs (with toys or whatever they choose that day) this is perfect. It's a little big on my tall 4 year old but not so big that he can't wear it. We pulled it out mid-hike and it was the perfect motivator to finish the hike. For us, the ability to easily adjust the carrier is crucial. Some days my husband (6') is carrying, other days it's me (5'3"). He has broad shoulders, I have hips. And, yet the carrier is comfortable for both us and so incredibly easy to adjust that we can just toss it in the car and quickly pull some straps once we're at the trail. Bottom line -- Love! Flat trails, hills, rough terrain...We're looking forward to the adventures.

We loved it so much we purchased a 2nd one.

We have purchased one kid carry pro for each of our children. I was so please when we bought it for our first child and haven't been disappointed after almost two years of use. It's easy to adjust for a male frame or woman's frame, the build in sun shade is wonderful and easy to use, and it makes hiking with our toddlers a breeze. There are so many pockets and pouches to hold everything you need to include zippered pockets for security. We absolutely love the product!

I love everything about this new backpack carrier!

I am a previous owner of a Deuter Kid Comfort 1 and have used it for over a year now but just recently got this new Deuter Kid Comfort Pro and I love it even more! Super comfortable to wear and easy to adjust all the straps to fit my kids inside. The back support it provides is so nice. I live in Arizona where it’s always hot so the added breathable material is a huge plus. I also love the fact that the sun roof is built into the carrier! So easy to use and then put away when not needed. My other carriers have had a sun roof add on option you can add but the fact that this one folds up inside is genius! The added day pack is really convenient too. This actually becomes our diaper bag when hiking and great to store everything needed for my kids. I can then remove it and take the pack with us on smaller trail walks where the carrier is not necessarily needed. Amazing job Deuter!

WORTH EVERYTHING!!

After probably 5 hours of research, my petite self decided to go with the PRO. I'm 5'2, and my husband is 6'1 with a long torso. I went with this one because it's easy to adjust between him and I, room for a water bag, along with the ATTACHED sun shade that conveniently tucks away..I didn't want to to attach and detach or lose and forget somewhere. My 1 year old is SUPER comfortable, he loves sitting up high, he loves the little stirrups, and looks so cozy sleeping on his pillow. His comfort is #1, mine is second. It's heavier than I'd like, total 30lbs with baby but my low back doesn't feel it, it's a great GLUTE workout! Great investment as it's less than a car payment, that will last 4-10 years depending on the amount of kids you have :) It will hold the value too, and easy to use and adjust, great option for crowded festivals and concerts where a stroller might be TOO much. Spending extra on the canopy was worth it to...very good quality. just go ahead and buy it already.

Great for hikes and long walks

Love this carrier! We literally flew it around the world. We enjoyed it a lot and our son is still enjoying it (he is now 2.5 years). Just a small note it doesn’t fit a lot of bagage just be aware of this when traveling like us.
