Great for scouts

I an earlier version of this pack when my oldest son was a cub scout 9 or 10 years old. It has been a great bag for him and he still uses it regularly as a Boy scout. When shopping for a pack for my middle boy, we bought another brand that had a great sale price, but ended up returning it. There is no other youth pack that really compares to this Gregory backpack. We purchased this newer version for my 9 year old and couldn't be happier with it. He carries his own gear without complaining. We don't pack it all the way yet, but there is plenty of room for it to grow with him.

great pack for growing youth

the main motivation for getting the pack was my son has a 24" waist and other packs would not cinch tight enough. this waistbelt fits both me and him so over a foot of range. the pack itself has relatively convenient features, such as good compression straps, easy access panels, stuff panel, etc. i compared it to the osprey ace 75, which my other son preferred (i think for the color). i like both, the osprey does breath better with the mesh backpanel, but the gregory is a bit more stable on the back.

Excellent Pack for Young Scouter

This pack has proven to be an excellent backpack for my younger Scout (11yo) which means I get my pack back! We've used it on a couple of campouts and recently packed it up for a week long summer camp. The internal space is voluminous as one would expect. It easily handled his sleeping bag and weeks worth of clothes and gear. The external straps and lash points can easily handle oversized gear such as a tent and large sleeping mat. Although the pack is adjustable, it fit him perfectly out of the box. Additionally, I am confident that when he out grows this pack, it is durable enough to be handed down to his younger brother.

Not just for kids

I like this pack. After trying just about every backpacking pack in the store, this is the one I left with. I am 5 feet 2 inches, 110 pounds. This is the only pack that fit my narrow shoulders. Unisex packs would not do it. So, it is comfortable, and it carries a lot. Too much! I wish this were 60L. I have taken off the lid, but I would rather have the organization that comes with the zippered compartments. I am not sure anyone should be carrying 70L!

not just for kids!

I am a petite 5'3'' adult who has used this pack for several years and loves it! My torso was too small to fit in any of the adult packs in the store, so the REI employees suggested this pack. This is the most well-fitting, comfortable pack I've ever had. The load sits perfectly on my hips without restricting motion, and the torso height is just right. It's well cushioned without pushing against my back. Everything about the weight distribution of this pack is amazing. I could wear it all day without getting bruised hips or an aching back. The 70L fits everything I need for a group- or week-long backpacking trip. Would definitely recommend for anyone with a shorter torso and smaller build.

Great entry pack for scout backpacking adventures

We got the 50L version for my 11 year old son a couple years ago as he started backpacking trips with scouts. It's a great pack and has survived multiple sumer camps and backpacking outings under tough conditions. We were able to size it correctly to his torso length, and from there he's able easily bind it to his hips and setup shoulder adjustments for comfort on his own. He's able to securely store his tent, sleeping, back, jetboil, clothes, food, etc without a problem and still hike terrain safely on their way to a backcountry campsite. No problems with zippers/buckles, they've survived pre-teen abuse without issue. This model is a little larger, but definitely recommend the series.

Excellent load distribution

I’ve used this bag a couple times and love it. I’m 5’5” and the adult packs were too large for my torso. I was initially a little bummed, but then I tried on this pack and the weight distribution was perfect. I’ve used Osprey packs in the past, and while I really appreciate the ventilation on the back of the Osprey’s, I feel like the load is more secured to my hips (where it should be), and the cushioning in the straps is better in the Wander. I’d go with the 70 liter for the extra space, never hurts to have the capacity in my opinion.

Great pack, good value for the price

I love this pack. I actually bought this pack for teenage daughter to grow into, and she loves it too. I have a Gregory Paragon pack already, and this one might be better. Tough call. They have slightly different features, but this Wander pack has easier access with the external zippers on the back. I find this pack much easier to get things out of the pack that are stored in the middle section, because you don't have to go in from the top or bottom like other packs. Overall, a great pack, rides nice on both me and my daughter thanks to the pack adjustments. I can manage this pack at 6'0" and 190 pounds. My daughter is 5'4" and much lighter, fits her great with room to grow. We took this Wander pack to Yellowstone, Glacier, Grand Tetons and parts of Idaho and Utah this past summer. Held up great for overnight trips, and was convenient enough to use for everyday storage on our trip thanks to the pack's accessibility. Love it, great job Gregory!

So far, so good.

My wife has this pack. First one we found that worked for her. We've been on 2 hikes with it and it's done her quite well. The adjustability is the key for her. Packing and access are good. Quite happy with it so far.

Great pack!

Great purchase! Bought this pack for my 13 year old son. He is now able to carry all of his own things making it easier on old dad lol. It is super comfortable and adjust to fit until he is an adult.
