I had high expectations for this tent. Unfortunately it lacks durability and TNF doesn’t stand behind the product. I had the same experience as another reviewer. In addition to seam adhesive failing, the vestibule window completely fell off. Fortunately it was my pack out day when it completely delaminated. TNF claimed the vestibule window failure was normal wear and tear and failed to honor the warranty or offer to repair the vestibule. Tent had been meticulously cared for and dried out after each use. I’ve used MSR, Big Agnes, and REI tents and continue to do so without any major problems. I can’t recommend this tent for the price, lack of durability, and poor warranty.
Be aware the plastic windows in the rain fly disintegrated on my tent with no use. North face calls it normal wear and tear. This tent was hardly ever used that's not normal wear and tear for plastic to degrade that fast. Do yourself a favor by a REI tent at least they stand behind their own branded equipment.
I've had my NF VE 25 for 25 years with probably 125 uses. No holes, all the zippers are still fully functional, no seam spreading, no floor punctures, no stake strings ripped off. Best tent I EVER owned. Yes, my stupid little plastic viewport fell off, but it served for zero functionality. The only reason I'm about ready to buy the Bastion 4 is because I need more room now. Thanks NF for over 33 years for me for ALL your gear. Won't Buy Anything else. And yes, my VE 25 has stood up to all 4 seasons and 60-70mph wind gust. And, this tent only takes 5 minutes to set up. And yes they do stand behind their product. They gave my parent's a $400 credit towards a new tent last year towards their old tent because the zippers were blowing out (that tent was 20 years with 100 uses). They got another NF tent. They've also replaced a coat and gloves for me. Don't listen to the 2 comments below. Almost all my gear for everything (skiing, hiking, backpacking) is NF. I'm a NF customer for life.
