Durable alternative to hooded sunshirt

I bought the shirt for climbing on rough rock, where the usual hooded sun shirt can't stand up to the abrasion. It has managed beautifully and is now my go-to piece for moderate-to-hot sunny conditions on all rock types. My only very small complaint is that I like the idea of being able to snap up the collar into a kind of turtleneck for sun protection, but the hidden snap set-up is impossible to use unless someone else does it up for you. Too clever by a half---a simple tab would have done the trick!

Versatile and flattering - these are my new go to shirts

I own 6 or 7 of these shirts now, both short and long sleeve. They're my new go to shirts for going out, going to the office, or simply hanging out. I'm 5'10, 170 lbs and have an athletic build. The medium shirts are a perfect fit for me. The fabric is very comfortable and the slight stretchiness means they don't feel tight, even though they are snug on my biceps. They're long enough to tuck in, but short and snug enough to look great untucked - something I can't say for many other shirts I own. I hope OR makes these in more colors in the future - particularly solids, which are even more versatile than the plaids.

Feels great but zero durability

This shirt feels amazing to the touch and has a great fit, though a slight bit short. I took this product hiking about 4 miles round-trip while wearing a light camelback with 2L of water and an apple. Upon returning to the trail head, the shirt practically wore through where the shoulder strap wrapped aside my arm. The pilling was so severe that you can see skin through it - all this after one hike that lasted 2 hours! I'm hoping to get a replacement and use it strictly for sun protection when I'm not being active. It feels great and breathes great, but has zero durability. Whats terribly disappointing is the 8-10 week lead time on my return - just to hear back. I wouldn't consider that an almighty guarantee.

My new favorite gear!

I have really enjoyed hiking in this shirt this summer. I bought it for the sun protection and breathability on warm hikes. It works great at both! It feels cooler than my other shirts on a hot day, Yesterday was my first fall hike and the morning was cool. I was surprised the shirt kept me warm and comfortable layered over a tee shirt. Even on the breezy ridge for lunch I didn't need a jacket while others were pulling on jackets. The fit is great. The shirt has lots of stretch which great when using our hands through the crags.

Quickly became a favorite

Bought this shirt right before a climbing trip. Love how it looks very sharp for after climbing but performs great while climbing. Super light feel, felt great in warm temps. Quickly became a favorite. Then I realized that it dried super quickly, so I started washing it after climbing in the evenings and it would be ready to use next morning. Only had some 7 days of climbing in it so far, but it is proving more durable than I expected. Was in sharp limestone and no holes or tears yet despite how thin and light it is. Also loved that the pocket is big enough for a large phone or passport but does not feel like it's even there when empty. So good I just purchased a second and have personally recommended to a couple of close friends. Hoping more clothing or pattern/solid colors will be offered in this fabric

hot weather game changer

I work about 50% of my time in the woods. I spend about 50% of my weekend outside. I'm a big fan of OR gear. Their cloths last. They work well. Now this shirt... this shirt is a game changer for me. I bought 2 for rafting and hiking trips on a whim but find I am constantly grabbing it out of the closet for every day wearing in the summer even if just in town. If it's above 85F I'm wearing this. Very light, little stretchy, super comfortable. Bought it a size larger so it's loose.

Not for me

Purchased and returned. I have to be extremely selective with OR tops and jackets, the sleeves are on the shorter side when compared to some other brands like Marmot and Arc'teryx. I refuse to buy XL for sleeve length so it a large doesn't fit me it's a no go. This seems like a great shirt and fits like a large in most other brands in the body, but wow, such short sleeves. I'd love to see companies offer regular and long steeve shirt options like they do for pants.

Great sun protection

Being a fair-skinned lover of the outdoors, I got this shirt as a way to minimize my dependence on sunscreen. It is very comfortable, fits perfectly, and is so lightweight that it seems like you could dry it by blowing on it a few times. The perfect layer for wicking sweat. Despite its lightweight, the fabric stands up well to the general wear-and-tear of carrying a pack, hiking, and camping. It's also presentable enough to wear to my job as a high school teacher.

Supreme versatility

This is an interesting shirt, different from any I have owned. It is a woven button up style in a fairly traditional looking plaid, but it is very light and stretchy. I have not yet worn it extensively, but it seems ideal for wearing as either a casual or active shirt, I find this particularly handy as we travel a lot and it's nice to have shirt do double duty for town and country. The fit on the shirt is slim, which is fine for my slim build, but it you are stocky or want a looser fit then I'd suggest you order up a size. The features are minimal with a single pocket and the sun collar, but this helps keep it light and breathable. Haven't used the sun collar, but it seems a useful if a bit fiddly to snap. Not sure about durability, as it is a light fabric, but it seems pretty tough, almost a feather weight stretch woven feel.
