I forget I'm even wearing it
This pack feels so light weight and the back ventilation does one heck of a job that together it doesn't feel like I'm wearing anything. I recently did 5 consecutive day hikes, all with varying lengths, elevations and weather conditions and I feel like I can go for 5000 more. The only downside was the hip-belt pockets weren't large enough for my phone (iPhone 6s plus). I'm frequently using the all trails app to make sure I'm not going off trail when the trail markers like to disappear so it was kind of annoying I didn't have easy access to my phone when I needed it. But thats something I can't fault the pack for. It has a ton of room for what I need and keeps my trekking poles secure. Also, the price on this pack is steeper than the others, however, I figure since it comes with a hydration bladder and rain cover it makes up for the costliness. There weren't many reviews on this and I never go out of my way to write reviews so hope this helps the next hiker. Happy travels!

Main side pocket isn't functional for me
I was torn between the 22 liter and 28 liter for a birding day pack and ultimately went with the 22. It's plenty enough room for binoculars, camera, sweatshirt, lunch and other bits, almost too big really for a day pack but the 16 liter was way too small, so the 22 it is. Sadly, I way prefer the organization of my old Mira 34 compared to the 22. The main pocket on the 22 is a side zip which is rather useless. In order to really access anything in it, you need to take everything out which gets annoying pretty quickly. While the vented back is nice, it makes for a stiff construction that isn't always pleasurable to deal with when storing it. As I've come to expect with the Osprey line, it's well made it's just the side pocket that ruins it for me.

Love this pack more than I expected!

I have used the pack on 3 day hikes so far, ranging from 5-12 miles. I love how comfortable it sits, and that my back doesn't get all sweaty. Pros: - I can fit my 10 essentials, water, small rain coat, a warm layer, and my lunch with a little room to spare - The hydration system ROCKS, love the magnet to keep the hose from flopping around - The front trekking pole strap works great to hold my sweat rag & the elastic section of the chest strap is perfect to hold my sunglasses when I'm back in the shade - The breathable back frame design is great. I put ice cubes in my water bladder, so it sweats during my hike, buy my back stayed dry the whole time, even though I could reach back and feel the back of the bag was damp. Cons: - The hip pockets are difficult/impossible for me to close with only one hand when the pack is on. I have to pinch one side to zip it, even if the pocket is mostly empty. I have wide waist/hips though, so it may be that they are further back for me than others. - The pack is actually a plum color, not the dusty black it appears to be in the photo. I don't mind, but I was definitely expecting a different color.

Great size for a day on the trail!

I purchased this bag in an REI store. The customer service rep helped me with the fit as well as let me walk around the store after putting some weight into the bag. The weight in the bag helped me to make my decision on my purchase. This bag fit me like a glove. The trampoline back and straps are so comfortable. The storage capacity is perfect for a day hike or a really well packed overnight trip. I bought this pack to just get out more by myself and enjoy a day out and have the basics that I need. If you're looking for a great fit and practical storage space for the day. This is the bag for you! Really happy with my purchase.

Blue beauty

Took it on its maiden voyage to Mt. LeConte in the middle of July. Mesh back did a way better job keeping me cool than I expected. Sweet number of pockets, smooth hydration system, nice amount of space for all the gear.

Sadly wasn't impressed

Not a great pack. Blue color is more teal in person. The back frame hit my shoulder blades in a weird spot making it uncomfortable...adjusted it multiple times but it still hit my shoulder blades. I didn't take this pack on a hike for that reason. Like others have said I would agree that the waste belt zipper pockets are hard to get into. I will say the osprey H2O reservoir it came was good but the whole zipper pocket for it seemed unnecessary and didn't leave much space for other items. But unfortunately I will be returning this pack.

Not osprey's finest

I own a larger and smaller Osprey pack for different length hikes and was hoping this would fit nicely in between them. I was very disappointed with the fit and feel of this pack. The torso is too short, even with the straps adjusted to their highest point -- for a comfortable fit of the straps on my shoulders the hip belt sits in the middle of my waist! I agree with another reviewer that the magnetic chest strap/combination hydration magnet is not good in practice either. The magnetic enclosure is very awkward to use compared to a standard clasp. Compared to my other two packs, this one's straps are extremely rough and uncomfortable, as well. I think maybe it's just not a fit for me, I'll be returning this one.

Really comfortable, roomy pack!

I'd been living with a make do pack for quite some time and decided to splurge and get something really nice. This pack does not disappoint! Every feature of this bag is top notch. There's a magnetic clip to the sternum strap which I was a little concerned about being weak, in reality is exactly the opposite, even a little tough to get apart (which I imagine will lessen the longer I use the pack, but maybe not?), a nice hip belt, adjustable height in the back (I'm tall and the one size fits great, 5'10"), and the best part of all, in back(front) enough little pockets for all my do-dads, and plenty of room inside for my extra water and supplies. My husband just purchased the Talon and I used his pack, the main difference I suspect between the women's version of the Talon, the Tempest, and this pack are the extra pockets inside, the included bladder, and the rain cover. For me these were really important. I'm so pleased with this purchase. If I had to give it any negative comments I would ask the Osprey folks to make the hip pockets a little easier to access when the pack is on, one-handed. I was even thinking about a modular pocket that could move across the hip belt. These ones have tough to move-around-corners-zipper and it's not quite big enough for an iPhone. But that's it. Highly recommend this pack!

Great daypack with awesome features!

Just ordered & received this pack after several months of research. Love it! The features that are important to me are: capacity for day hikes, internal frame, hip belt pockets, and angled side pockets for water bottles. 22L is a great size for full day hikes. The hip belt pockets hold my Iphone 13, small binoculars, &/or a few snacks. Most packs have side pockets which are very upright, which makes it difficult for one to remove and replace a water bottle while on the go. This pack (plus the Mira 32) have openings on the side pockets which are angled towards the wearer which makes it possible to put the water bottle back in place while on the go. Other features that I like are the fact that this comes with a rain cover & several different pockets (including one with a snap for car keys). Yes, it is a very pricey pack, but I intend to use it for many years.

Comfort on the hiking trail

First time I've bought a backpack made for women, and not what a difference! The weight distribution makes it feel like there's no weight, the shoulder straps for perfectly without constant pain in my shoulder joints. I can't say enough good things about this backpack!
