I love this pack. Fits very comfortable and feels very lightweight even when it’s packed full. I like that the hydration bladder was included. Easily holds everything with being very accessible. Very durable and will last me a long time.
I bought this before a trip to the UP of Michigan where I did two 12 mile hikes. This pack carries the perfect amount of water in the hydration bladder (its an older model of Osprey's so you have to remove the drinking nozzle to clear the tube) for myself for a day long hike, but there was enough room in the main area of pack to place my Camelbak bladder with food and layers. Temperatures ranged each day between 30 to 50 degrees during the hike and it rained/snowed one of those days. So I needed a lot of layers options that could be stored. I love the pocket options for quick to reach snacks and toiletries for bathroom pit stops. I am 5'5" and 165 lbs, I would say my torso is a bit shorter than average. It feels like a good fit and I like the options of clipping up top and at the waist for extra support.
I’ve had my fair share of hydration day packs and this is by far the best. The Osprey hydration bladder is so easy to fill, and slips back easily into the backpack. And there is lots of space in the daypack for all my families hiking needs (snacks, folding hiking sticks, extra water, sunscreen and bug spray, ponchos, etc). Only thing I wish it had more of were smaller pockets on the inside so I can more easily find the little things (but it does have 2 side pockets, and 2 other zippered pockets, plus the two tiny pockets on the hip, but they don’t even hold my cell, so they are pretty irrelevant for me.
I love the hip pockets, stuff sack, and attachment points for poles and other gear. As usual with REI and Osprey the quality seems solid. Unfortunately I had to return because as a fairly tall woman (5'8") the back on this pack was just too short, making the hip belt sit too high to be comfortable. It says it fits back measurements 14-19 inches. My back measures 18-19 inches and this was definitely too short for me, so if your measurements are on the higher end of their estimate this might not be the pack for you. I switched to the men's version (Skarab) and it fits much better!
I am so happy with this daypack! It’s very comfortable and the perfect size for day hikes! I love all the compartments as they help keep things organized. I especially love the stash pocket that I use for my jacket.
I am looking to replace my 10year old Mira 26 pack. This fits much better but I don't like that it doesn't have the open mesh pockets on the sides which I like for easy access to my cellphone, topo map and bear spray! Those side pockets now are closed with no easy access as the zipper closes at the bottom (opens at the bottom first...seems counterintuitive and easier to lose items if you don't close it all the way!). Also don't like the "hidden" smaller top pocket which in other packs are on the "outside" of the bigger zippered middle.
I’ve loved this pack so far and it’s a great day hike pack. After venturing out with my REI Co-op 65L Traverse pack on multiple hikes in Shenandoah, I knew I needed something smaller for my quicker hikes but would still allow plenty of storage for my camping stove + supplies, my hammock, and extras for shedding layers, knives, etc. This pack comes with a 2.5L Osprey water bladder but does not include a rain-cover, so thats one thing to keep in mind when purchasing! (Though I think the trade off is fair, especially price considered) I do wish the hip belt packs were built larger as I can’t even fit my phone into them like I can with my Traverse pack. For me, one of the beauties of the fanny pack accessibility is the quick store and go. These pockets are lightweight and great for little essentials like a clif bar and some chapstick, but don’t work as well for me when I want to quickly pull my phone out for plant/animal ID! The only other main adjustment I would make is a better-enclosed mesh/slide-in pocket on the zipper top of the pack—this is where I find it easiest to store my rain-cover and it always slips out without fail. I may add on a simple Velcro attachment just to prevent this problem. All in all, this is a great pack and I’m super happy with my first Osprey purchase!
Broke this pack in on an eight-hour 14er - so, lots of snacks and lots of water and lots of layers to carry! Between the large water bladder, and all the pocket options of different shapes and sizes, this was the perfect pack to have on the mountain. I particularly like this pack because of the hip straps that, when clipped together, shift the pack's weight onto your hips and off of your back. It's also a little narrower/longer than my other packs, which makes it ideal for smaller women like me who are uncomfortable wearing wider/broader packs that put strain on the shoulders. I would absolutely recommend this pack for overnight backpacking trips or just longer hikes in general. Added bonus: the color is really cute! Much more unique than the black and grey options I saw in other brands when I was shopping for a new pack.
A basic day pack with just the right amount of pockets. Two zippered compartments on pack, an open pouch lining the front, and 2 useless zippered tiny pockets on the waist belt. The two tiny zippered pockets (for items like lip protection tubes and car keys) are NOT ACCESSIBLE when pack is on. One cannot reach the pockets while wearing the pack. These pockets should be further out on the pack waist strap so they are readily available to easily access. Also, this pack comes with no rain cover.
Took this on a 10-day hiking trip to Scotland recently. Very lightweight, and at 5’2”, I found the shoulder straps to be quite comfortable. However, I do NOT like the hydration bladder.. you have to buy more parts that make the hose quick-release from the bladder. However, the side pockets are not set up for water bottles. They angle and zip the wrong way. Also, because I have older arthritic hands, I found the lack of loops to tighten the waist belt a serious omission. Trying to just pull on the ends of the straps was no fun. I also agree with others that the size and location of the small zip pockets on the hip belt leaves much to be desired. Finally, I thought I would like the large open pocket on the back for quickly stuffing something in there, but found it didn’t work that quickly at all. Osprey could have done much better.
