Great day pack for hiking, travel or commuting.
This pack is super lightweight and comfortable. I use it for day hikes (with the bladder), and for travel/work commuting. The top zippered compartment is roomy enough to hold sunglasses, a wallet and other small things, making them easy to access. The interior, while not having any organizational pockets, is quite roomy. Would give it five stars, but the outer side pockets have these weird openings at the bottom, so you can only store larger things in them, like a water bottle, umbrella, etc. Otherwise, smaller items fall out. Other than that, this pack is perfect for me.

Did not work for me!
Pros: good size, comfortable, good hydration system Cons (for me personally): when I bought it I was in a hurry and did not notice it has no internal pockets/ organization to it, the side pockets have holes/slits on the sides so when I tried to use them for things everything kept falling out. So, buyer beware, no organization! Otherwise I would have loved it!

Great for a Day Hike

20L: as the other reviews mention there are not a ton of compartments. Only the top small zipper pocket, and one large compartment. The side pockets don't have a ton of use for me as the only really store larger objects due to holes on the side. And as there is already a hydration flask, you don't really need the space for a water bottle. However, I love the magnetic touch to not have the hose flopping around. I would have liked to see the flask itself have a quick connect option like other hydration flasks do. Might be worth purchasing separately to get that feature for easy cleaning. I do love the mesh on the back so I don't get as sweaty.

Long, hot days on the trail

This size is adequate for rain gear, lunch, small first aid kit, gloves, hat, scarf. In other words, the layers you need for a full day of hiking. I like the little zipped pocket at the top for my wallet, note book and pen, sun screen and lip stuff, pain relief tablets. Best is the 85 oz Osprey water bladder that drops into a pouch at the back. The hose has a magnet that attaches to the breast strap which already has its magnet. I've tried this out on short hikes. It will be my day pack on El Camino de Santiago this coming summer.

Perfect Size For A Personal Item On Planes

I'm a very light traveler and like to use discount tickets that don't allow full-size carry-on. The dimensions stated, while not inaccurate, are absolute max. The base dimensions are only 17" high x 9" wide x approximately 7" deep. This makes it fall within limits, even for United which has some of the strictest policies. I can't speak to its usefulness as a hiking pack and I removed the hydration flask, but it's perfect for what I needed. I like that it doesn't have a bunch of compartments, pockets, or straps on the outside. It's basically a duffle bag with shoulder straps. The fact that the top two zippers can come together at the back of the pack means I can lock them together out of sight for a little bit of extra security. Love the color (Plum) as well.

Not easy to use

This pack does not have anything except the main bucket area to hold gear. There is no smaller zip compartment for keys and so on. It also does not have smaller containers had attached to the waist strap. Also, the magnetic water tube keeps falling off. I am pretty unhappy with this pack style.

Great pack for a day hike!

I bought this pack and took it for several short hikes in Colorado and RRG. It’s durable, comfortable, and packs a lot for its size. I do wish it had more pockets other than the bucket, small top pouch, and side pouches. I am pretty small, so I was able to fit my layers, water and snacks along with some luxury items, but it was a tight fit. The hip belt is comfortable as well, which I have found hard for me to come across in larger packs.

Sturdy but awkward fit

I was fitted for this bag at REI and it still seems off. It's good enough but if I load it up fully it becomes awkward to carry and my shoulders/back start to hurt. The hip strap does not sit in the right place and the chest strap falls in an awkward spot but maybe that is all backpacks. It has held up through many washes and easily comes clean.
