Women's Products Are Less Functional
I am consistently frustrated and disappointed by the products offered for women in the world of outdoor technical clothing. The men's equivalent jacket has a chest pocket and the women's doesn't! For base or mid-layers, having a large chest pocket is useful and I like to keep my phone there so it doesn't get too cold, causing it to die. I live in Alaska and have to be particular about what I wear. Black Diamond makes the Factor Hoody with two zip hand pockets and a zip chest pocket. This is way better and their women's jacket is a fair equivalent to the men's.
Holy Grail Hoodie
This is the perfect layer!! It's nice and warm, layers well under things, and it's good on its own for when it's chilly out but not cold. Most importantly, it doesn't smell even after wearing it for several days in a row on super sweaty hikes. Worth every penny. I bought a size L and it's a perfect fit.

Best fleece jacket
Love this grid fleece jacket. 2nd is the R1 zip and love. This newer edition has a double thick cuff and bottoms hem, which is great, so much sturdier being and points of most stretch. Fits true to size. Great as layered or by self.

I love this so much! Very versatile and I can do lots of outdoor activities in it! Love how it has pockets too. I wear it almost every day in the fall and spring. I am 5’4” and got a medium.
New uniform!
I live in this R1 and joke it’s my uniform. This is a staple for running, hiking, climbing, living, and I’ve worn it almost everyday since I bought it.

I've been eyeing this hoodie ever since I saw a woman on our Alaska Uncruise wearing one. I asked her about it, and she mentioned how much she liked hers. It was pretty pricey, however I'm glad I splurged. I've been wearing it everyday so far and am looking forward to having it be part of my layering this fall and winter!
