Fit this rack to an Electra Townie Go 7d. The struts for frame mounting have an offset to them. Given the width adjustability at the rack for the struts, Less offset would have been better for me and probably still suit every other bike from road frames to fat bikes just as well. The supplied p-clamps were too thin to wrap around my seat stays. Even with the larger ones I fished out of my parts bin, it wasn’t possible to get tire clearance below the stay bridge and I couldn’t get the rack level mounting it above. In the end, I “voided my warranty” by sawing off the short tip at the end of the strut so it would clear the odd mounting point on my frame and spaced them apart with one wide spacer (again from my parts bin) on each side. In the end, looks great and is very solid. The bamboo plank looks fantastic and the light mounting at the rear is well designed. I placed some vinyl sticker material on the rack mounting points because my panniers have aluminum mount points that would scratch the rack coating. If I intended to load this up like the rack on my touring bike, I probably would have returned it rather than take minor risks on the custom install. This is for light-duty store runs and round-town stuff. Fyi, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another to cleanly mount on my LHT.
I've had a lot of trouble finding a rack for my old road bike that doesn't have eyelets. Many of the compatible racks aren't rated for as high of a load as this one or they don't have a frame on the side to hold a pannier in place. I've been using this one for a couple weeks now and it's doing the job well so far! When I first put it on, I initially thought it didn't fit around my wheel because the pieces that attach to the seat post were brushing against the tire at the end. But I found that you can actually move those outward away from the wheel and get more clearance. So try that first if you think it doesn't fit. (My bike is 700c wheels and 52 cm frame)
I installed the PDW Everyday Rack last fall and have been using it regulary on my commuter (Soma Wolverine 56cm). I literally installed it in under 10 minutes with zero problems (even around the disc brake area). My Ortlieb panniers hook up perfectly to the rack and the bamboo deck is a nice touch of elegance. You can tell PDW designs their products down to the finest details like the bamboo plugs an the end of the rack tubes. Basically, I couldn't be happier with this rack, its function, looks, and build quality.
Form meet function. Does exactly what I need it to, and looks good to boot.
Got this rack to improve my daily commute to work, and it is exactly what I needed. Works perfectly, easy to install, and looks great! I'm going to buy the same one for my husband for his birthday, since he keeps commenting on how nice it is. Highly recommend!
Out of three racks I have had, I find this to be the best for quickly securing my Ortlieb panniers. It’s a little pricey, but worth it to me. I damaged one of the mounting arms during installation. The staff at PDW were fantastic and quickly shipped me a replacement at no charge.
The design of this rack is really nice, which is why I picked it. It looks a bit more modern and attractive than most of the other options, but unfortunately doesn't fit my bike (Fuji Jari 1.3) with 700c wheels, despite the product description saying it should. It wouldn't attach to the rear points on the bike without resting on the wheel so unfortunately it's being returned.
This is a good looking rack and looks especially good on my yellow Co Op adv2.3. Tech support said it would fit and it does. There is however not a lot of clearance. Enough, but not a lot. I like that the pannier bars are lower so it will hold a trunk pack as well without conflict. A little heavy but seems strong. All in all a nice rack I am pleased with so far.
Rack is sleek design with narrow top. Works well for my intended use. Fit nicely on my Cannondale Synapse II with plenty of clearance over the 700C wheel. The extender bars were turned to the inside position when attaching to the screws below the seat post. The rack’s inside clearance where it attaches to the bottom portion of the frame is approximately 6–1/2 inches. It needed to be spread an additional 1/2 inch /- to fit over the screw hole locations with no issue.
Awesome beautiful rack. Fits my partner's new gravel bike perfectly. Holds panniers perfectly as well
