SMALL to XL
These pictures below show a size small stretching to a size XL in 4 month of usage. Hand Washing 7th Gen. Line Dry. Each year the glorious Capilene (Daily - Lightweight - Silkweight) - is morphing -changing the name of it and making it progressively worst. Very sad to try to reinvent such originally perfect baselayer.
Nothing better
This shirt is amazing. It's so silky soft and comfortable I can't even tell its on. Recently moved to FL from MA so i had to get some warm weather shirts. This fits the bill. I will be buying 6 more of these to wear every single day. There are many more color options on Patagonia's website. I wish REI would carry the other colors too. I got the green and like it a lot but I cant wear the same one every day! As for size, it is perfect for me. I'm 6' 1" and I hate when shirts are too short or the sleeves feel small. I bought a Large and its exactly right.
Turned around my perspective of synthetics!
I purchased this shirt online in heather grey, preparing for a hiking trip in Greece. I was so pleased with the coolness of this shirt and how well it dealt with sweat and odor, I ordered a spread of colors in this to have as my main loungewear and workout gear. The fit is decently flattering as well. Large fits true for athletic build. I hope Patagonia continues this line!
Great Shirts
I can't say enough good things about these shirts, from the feel of the fabric to the performance of the shirt itself. They're a great piece of gear all year round, but they truly shine in the summer months when you're spending long days out in the heat. I'm 5'11" with a relatively slim build and typically wear a size medium in Patagonia tops, these fit a bit more loosely than items like their Capilene baselayer tops or my R1 fleece. If you're of a similar build and prefer your t-shirts to have a slimmer fit I would suggest sizing down to a small. That said, I like the fit and it works well especially on hot days out hiking. It's not so loose though that it negatively impacts layering, in colder/cooler conditions I find that one of these and their Capilene Zip-Neck work well together.
Highly Recommend, Feels Brand New after 2 years
I took this t-shirt on a 4 month camping trip, and have been wearing it pretty regularly for about 1.5 years since then, and by no means do I take careful care of my clothes. This shirt still feels like it's brand new, I've bought 2 more since then and highly recommend. I have also tried the cool trail t-shirt, which is slightly heavier and stiffer. Still a great fit, but I much prefer this daily version. I haven't yet tried the lightweight version so I can't comment on that. Overall, highly recommend.
Incredibly Lightweight and durable
I bought 5 of these, and 3 Capilene hoodys. The material is light, stretchy and moves well. They really are odor resistant, I can wear a shirt 5-10 times with no odor problems. Less laundry, will last a long time from not being laundered often. Some clothing items graded 50% UVA protection don’t breath well, these do. Can’t rave enough.
Odorless, repeat wear
Worn two straight days in where I worked out and it was still fresh. Almost like it's made out of merino, which tells me that this synthetic fabric is superior of its kind. True to size fit, amazingly soft.
Lightweight but baggy
The shirt is very lightweight and has a super-soft feel. But the cut is baggy and shapeless. My chest is 38", waist 30". The size M fit reasonably well across the shoulders, but the sleeves and body were cut very generously. Unless you have a figure flaw that needs hiding, I wouldn't recommend this shirt.
Comfortable for Running
I've worn this shirt while running in warm weather many times. It's very comfortable and wicks away sweat.
the cool daily is the shirt for hiking
I really like the cool daily shirts because they are stronger and hold up better, especially when compared to the lightweight shirts. The cool daily fits true to size. These cool daily shirts are NOT the cool lightweight shirts, which are noticeably different in both fit (lightweight fits tighter, more like a fitted shirt) and weight (lightweight is what it says it is, a much lighter weight, less material, shirt). I’m fine with the extra weight of the cool daily since it holds up more and I expect that it will last longer. Works just fine for hiking, even in hot weather. I don’t mind the sweat, but this shirt helps whisk it away because it’s NOT cotton. It’s polyester. Keep away from the fire or your done since this shirt will melt to your skin. That’s the main tradeoff.
